Let me know if any of you also have problems with the launcher just not doing squat (read: not even opening).

Keen to see how wide-spread it is.

Between D and I, the only thing we have in common is Win8 x64. Our hardware is completely different.

Working fine for me. Windows 7 x64. 2 hours to go.

Just my 2c, support for Cryengine on windows 8 x64 system hasn't been widely supported.

Well, it lists Win8 as a recommended spec. More importantly, though, is that the launcher (which shouldn't have much to do with the actual engine) is what isn't even opening.

It creates a process that lasts for a minute or two and then it disappears.

It leaves no log, so no real way (for me, at least) to diagnose it.

Yeah, repeatedly.

I even did the usual crossing my heart, turning around five times and singing the American anthem just for good measure :p

I found what seems to have been a solution.

I uninstalled all of my x86 C++ redistributables and restarted.

Afterwards it loaded up first try and with no issues :D

lol...

Nice, strange that the C++ would cause such problems.
Well enjoy, im hating all who can play with it now. :)

Doesn't look good so far. I log in and then a few seconds after I launch the hangar module it times out and the application closes when I click ok. I've tried about 5 times in a row now and I haven't been able to get any further.

It's a pretty common issue. You're going to have to try it a lot more than 5 times. I think it worked for me after about 20 tries.

Yeah, the login server is taking a hammering, I've tried about 12 times now, couldn't get into the game yet. Will try again in 2-3 hours time. :(
