I don't see how viewing publicly available photos online can be considered stalking....

It does sound silly, but some people will tend to use these pictures as a means of stalking.
Read and hear about these things every now and again.

It isn't, in my view. If people are worried, then they should check their privacy settings. Even then you should assume that everyone can see it, what with Facebook changing things all the time. Or better yet, don't put photos of yourself online in the first place...

I don't think they expect people to go snooping around in their personal "belongings" anyway -- which is as it should be.
But, Facebook is a very social platformer, so chances are that someone will at some point go and look around in your profile.

And it's like you said; if you're afraid someone'll "stalk", make as much private as you can.

Vampothic and MissileToe make good points
I suppose it is a firm of stalking, but nothing on the net can be seen as private anymore.
Its not about the privacy issues, by uploading the photos to facebook you are giving your facebook friends permission to view them.

And if your profile is open for all to see, then maybe even more than just your friends have permission to view your photos and other content too. I know it might not go down well with all, but one has to wonder, do people bring it (stalking) on themselves by giving away too much? It's just a question I'm throwing out there.
