Not 6 months :/ I've come to really enjoy the forums and feel like I'm contributing to conversation sometimes. If people really have something to offer to the community, I say let them join. But all useless spammers who make stupid/irrelevant/spammy posts should be banned and their accounts deleted.

Would never spend money to purchase one as I would probably mostly use it as an in-bed reading and browsing device, besides that it's a pretty nifty device :)

A lot of accounts will be made, and no doubt there will be lots! of spam.

After it all settles down, only the people who want to stay and contribute will remain.

Either way the forums will be busier

Even though a bunch of users will be spamming, a lot of them will also be exposed to the forums and end up using them. For example, I signed up because I was researching and looking for prices of an IPAD 2, and I came across this competition. I have done my 20 posts (not spam...mostly), but in the process I have become interested in a couple of threads. Now that I am interested, I will continue to make use of these forums. I think that is the whole purpose of this competition.
 
Seems like I have to post here to enter. So consider this post my entry into this competition with a post to make me qualify for wining an iPad so I can use it to to post in threads like these so I can win competitions like this one I'm posting in now.

What pisses me off is that some random noob spams his way to xx amount of posts and wins.

Six months is way, way too harsh. Anybody who joined after the comeptition was announced, maybe. Six months discludes a lot of people, like me. I've been fairly active around here the last few months, but I haven't been here 6 months. Wouldn't be fair.

Haha, as benevolent as Tinman and his sidekicks are, I very much doubt they're giving away an iPad to reward us faithful (i like to believe myself such these days). It's more likely to draw more people to the site and expand the community. So by having any kind of time frame prerequisite, they would defeat that purpose. Having them make 20posts is just a way to make sure we don't get an dodgey folks dropping their emails and then never being seen again.

P.S. GIMME AN IPAD DAMMIT! :-D
 
Surely there should be a specific rules list... the fine print (like: employees of MyGaming and their family cannot enter and so forth), and if we need to at least enter one post on this particular thread. Good luck to everyone otherwise.
