Define life...
There might be life just not that we are use to.
I don't believe there is any intelligent life out there. I believe it's all dead space. There's no evidence to support it outside of "There just has to be" and so far every attempt to find life has failed.
We're very much alone in the galaxy and if we continue down this path of destruction that we're on then there won't be any life left, even us.
Well you have to bear in mind that there are countless solar systems and galaxies out there. Also scientists are viewing the past of the universe. It takes around 3 minutes for a photon from our sun to travel to earth and it takes around 5hours for a photon from the sun to hit Pluto
Now think how long will it take a photon to reach earth once it has bounced of something in another solar system?
I'm sure it's possible that there could be intelligent life out there, but the universe is so vast that the chances of any intelligent race ever coming across another one is extremely unlikely, no matter what technology they have.

Here's another one for you guys, how do we define "Life" if we find something and then define "intelligent life"

Good questions, because my belief is that there may be some form of life on other planets, but they will be in the form of bacteria, viruses or plasmids.
Now for the question about intelligence, a French philosopher said it best when we he said: "I think, therefore I am". It is probably the statement to classify any species as intelligent. If any organism is capable of making a decision, be it what to eat, when to sleep, where to go, it must be classified as "intelligent".
