Loooooooooool! Mw2 pc price hike

It will be interesting to see how this whole thing will turn out, will the game get pirated more or will it sell better than COD4?

I guess the douchbag above knows that a Superior product can be sold for more, look at a product like an iPod for example. Also knowing that there is a great demand for the game especially in terms of the multiplayer, the "risk" is minimized from a sales point of view.

I must confess, for R500, I would have probably pirated the game, but seeing as I will be buying the game purely for the multiplayer, I will happily fork out the cash.

For me the single player mode of any COD game is boring, once you've played online then the AI of the game just seems to be very predictable.

MW2 is going to be the best selling COD of all time, it's a given.

And remember, there is CO OP aswell!!!!!!!!!!! even WAW's co op was sweet!

And just look at the local servers for cod 4 you bet your ass people are going to get MD2 because a lot of people are sick of counterstrike and the WWII Themes of games.

As long as the game sell at higher prices and there is little competition in the way of a competing game then they will keep inflating prices!

Rules of economics unfortunately.

So if you are unhappy with the game's price = just don't buy it rather keep playing the older version!

But as stated by many in this forum they are happy to pay the R100 more and feel it is justified, and I am sorry to say that those that feel that way will only support inflated prices in the future.

In all honesty, I think a game like MW2 is worth that extra price just. For a once of fee, you get access to infinite multi-playability.

Compared to the likes of WoW (or other MMOs) for example, which offers a similar sort of value proposition but requires a R150 monthly subscription fee, MW2 is not that badly priced.

I think if other developers follow suite with regular PC titles, they will fail miserably.

I have to agree, the value that I have got out of COD4 is priceless. Personally I am ok with the extra R100. It won't stop me from buying it.

Sorry but R500 is insane... Sad thing is if we boycott and don't buy the game, activision will go "They didn't buy because they pirated our game" when infact they should be saying "They didnt buy because we are money grabbing ingrate rednecks"

this is why i said that R500 is pretty much the cut offline and i except nothing less than AAA title that works out of the box with re playability- which i'm sure mw2 will give us.

I will quote myself
Not only are you getting a brilliant Singleplayer experience, but you are getting a title that's giving you YEARS of online and LAN enjoyment, R500 is smallchange then......PLus we get free DLC where console players will have to pay for theirs.

I'll wait till the price comes down, thank u very much... lol, i need to upgrade before i can even think of playing this game anyways!

[edit:]hell, i will even survive just playing more of COD4 online that my sub-par notebook has not been playing so well :( Bought it from a friend 2nd hand, played it twice, but the notebook's HDD is a bit slow or at least the game struggles in the first couple of min of each map.

Look, don't take me wrong, its a hefty hike for a PC game, and yes it's the normal vanilla version, but yeah, for a title to give me that much enjoyment, for US to get FREE DLC where the console players have to pay R60 per DLC pack, and again as stated above, the timespan I will be playing this game, makes it worth it.

Fine Print ->The Fact that I am an UBER COD S.L.U.T HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY ABOVE STATEMENT. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING YOU HEAR!!!!

LOL

I am buying ARMAII this weekend, setting me back R400. COD World at War set me back R400 in April.....

Hold off on buying ARMA2 until after the weekend. I'll have a review up early next week i hope...

I think this is ridiculous. First they postpone the game, and then they push the price up! It's unacceptable. They're cashing in on the title. It's really sad when developers take advantage of gamers - we support them and this is how they thank us!
