Lowest ever standard capped ADSL prices

Wow that's really good. Perhaps I should consider dropping my 3G contract at the end of the term and go for a fixed line solution.
 
I wonder if this will translate into a drop in bundle prices as well. I have a 4mb/s + 50gb bundle and pay R450.

Interesting side note on Afrihost capped products vs uncapped: I used to have an 4mb/s uncapped product with them but cancelled because my data usage is too low to justify the expense. The speed on the uncapped was usually about 3.5mb/s. Big surprise when I went for capped and my speed increased to avg 3.8mb/s. So even when the uncapped is not being shaped or throttled, the capped is still faster.
 
Wow cool prices wonder what the other ISP's will do to counteract this good deal.

Would also love to see bundle price drops with uncapped too.
 
Hmm, since mweb has started to throttle their *premium* uncapped accounts I've been looking elsewhere. My usage is generally below 70gigs/month. This would work out more than R200 less per month, yoh.

You should go get Telkom do accounts with free downloads between 12 am to 6 am everyday and 40 gigs for R130+- if you get the 4 meg bundle.

On top of that you can get a 25% discount off the line speed so you only pay R300+- instead of R425.

I'll look into it actually. Right now I pay around R900+ for a 4mb line and uncapped premium from MWEB. Now that they're starting to throttle it just seems ridiculous. Although I must add I have never been throttled.

The majority of my data is used between 6pm and 11pm, streaming netflix and whatnot. So afterhour free data wont really help me too much. I dont download all night that often at all.

I dont also use it that much unless I really want a movie or series so 40 gigs for me is more than enough :D
 
Well done afrihost! They started the first plummet wuth their R29 a gig deal a few years back as well.
 
Looks good. I'll consider getting an ADSL line next year when I plan to stay at one place for at least 2 years. Right now I'm happy with my Afrihost mobile special, but wouldn't mind more data...
