Mafia III

This is disappointing. :(

We've been unfortunately informed from our supplier that due to unforeseen logistical circumstances, Mafia III (PC) will be delayed. We only expect to receive the stock on Friday, and we will dispatch it as soon as it arrives. Delivery will commence from Monday next week on wards.

That is disappointing. It seems like it's becoming a trend now, I think digital is definitely the way to go if this keeps up.

But in other news, the streams have started and the embargo should be lifted, seeing as it has officially been released in New Zealand. From what I heard is that press could then go to town as long as it was released in at least one country in the world. So expect reviews in the coming day or three.

Yep, the only reason i ordered the retail version is the price difference. R889 vs R999 on steam. Guess it's digital from now on.

UPDATE [10/6 / 6PM PT]: We currently have a patch running here at the studio that includes 30, 60, and unlimited frames-per-second options in the video menu, among other improvements for the PC version of Mafia III. We’re verifying the patch now to ensure everything is working as expected. If everything goes well, we expect the update to go live this weekend. We will be keeping the PC community up-to-date on the status of the patch throughout the weekend and thank you for all the feedback!

ORIGINAL POST: We know how important having options that best suit your PC’s performance capabilities are. The team has been hard at work ensuring that Mafia III’s performance is consistent across all platforms, and right now the game runs at a solid 30 frames-per-second. We are currently working on an update for PC that will give players the option to play Mafia III at higher framerates. We’ll share more details about the update, and when you can expect it to arrive, very soon. In the meantime, the team welcomes feedback and would like to hear from you about what performance adjustment options are important to you. We’re actively considering a number of additional post-launch improvements on PC that would give players more control over how they can tailor the game’s experience to suit their rig’s performance. It’s been an incredible journey developing Mafia III and we couldn’t be more excited to get the game in your hands and hear what you think!

Picked up my copy and started installing now. PC version comes on 6 discs at least, so the download shouldn't be too big.

Awesome. was worried it's gonna be another steam installer disc with a code.

Screw this, I'll wait for the GOTY edition with decent patches and hopefully no 30fps lock

the nice thing about single player games is, or at least in my case, I don't feel the need to play them ASAP so I can enjoy them at my own pace and at a cheaper price further down the road.

I like playing things ASAP, but I delay certain purchases sometimes because of reasons. Like Batman Arkham Knight, it's on my to buy list, but I'm not paying more that R100 for that. No Man's Sky can wait till its either fixed or <R100; and now Mafia 3 can wait till it gets an unlocked framerate and a GOTY edition.

Buy Arkham Knight its great game. I bought it when it was buggy knowing it was buggy, did not regret. Although I did have to tweak the game hard untill they patched it. Glad I didnt get NMS nearly got hyped in to it.

So I only seen the headline that Mafia locked to 30 until they do a frame rate patch to optimise the game, but does the mean you cant fiddle with the *.ini files or something to get 60fps? Or is the game too broken even for the big rigs to handle a comfy 60?

Mmmm GTA wishes...

I'm not going to spoil anything but let's just say the games story and characters are incredibly deep. The game oozes character and I'm hooked. I'll most likely play it through at least 2 or possibly 3 times.
Think of it as GTA but with a fantastic plot and insane attention to detail.

The game runs incredibly well at 4K maxed and is very well optimized..Just waiting for that fps unlock to come through before I carry on playing.

All in all, it's worth every cent.

Holy shit. Waited so long for a follow up mafia game. So far i am really impressed. Loving it. I just miss the speedometer limiter from the old games
