Mass Effect 2 - May Contain Spoilers

First review is out. I believe OXM is a console mag so I think the review is the xbox 360. Bit worried about the story being disappointing but we will see on January 29. Just paid for my pc ce copy today.

February '10 OXM Review : Mass Effect 2 Cover

Mass Effect 2 - 9.5
+ Enveloping universe filled with interesting characters and revealing side stories.
+ Outstanding, flexible combat in gorgeous environments.
- Main story is a bit disappointing; dull element mining and hacking.
? Why do characters cry oil slicks?

I saw this on the forum also. TBH i dont think we need to worry about anything. When last did Bioware have a game with a crappy story? To get the first review out the reviewer propably had to speed play through it skipping alot of the context along the way. We all know speed playing is not how you enjoy an epic RPG like Mass Effect. You savour every moment, even line of dialog ever little plot twist.
 
Speed plays through proper rpg's are just stupid. noughts. YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG!

Hey dont pick on Bethesda. It can be awesome just wandering around Fallout 3's wasteland. Sure its not B-ware epic but its still pretty awesome. Damn you know i feel liek Fallout 3 again:mad:
 
I'm refering to oblivion in this case. Fallout 3 is very awesome lost myself in that game for 150 hours. 180 for oblivion. but yeah speed runs through any proper rpg are a waste so i retract that statement...

I also spent about 180 hours in Oblivion... sand thing i never finished it. Bot bored right by the end. I think its time i dust that off as well. Oblivion is a very awesome game for its time. The size and score of the world was awesome. And all the side missions :eek:. I just dont like the class system in it. An RPG needs classes not some Do everything Jack of all trades.

I saw in one of the comments a guy asked how cool it would be to be able to have like a co-op function where u can import one of you friends characters into the game and play through together. An intresting idea but the companions are what makes the games so gr8 and how is the game npc's going to handle two Commander Shepards. Maybe in the future they will build in a special second character. Shepard's clone maybe....
 
i read somewhere all classes will be able to use all weapons now... can't find the link. if true then what the hell is the purpose of the soldier class then?

Thats not true. Check the classes section in the Mass Effect Wiki. Scroll down to the Mass Effect 2 section to see which weapons which class can use.

The armor restriction has been lifted. Any class can now wear any armor. There is even a rumor that its possible to build your own custom armor from bits and pieces collected all over. How awesome does that sound?

i laugh at your lMG and Missile Launcher. Give me Assualt Rifle and Black Storm Singularity gun. Im seriously contemplating playing with my soldier first just to get my hands on all the new toys.
 
didn't go with btgames pre-order...

for some stoopid reason they jacked delivery costs to harrismith to R79...

so i went with kalahari.net instead.

Same for me. I preorder online and pay and collect in store. Will set which set of armour I use for my soldier, already have the dragon armour and getting the terminus armour plus the ce armour.
 
Im curious. I have Dragon Age on PC. I have that DLC code for the Blood Dragon Armor in ME2. My ME2 will be on xbox. will the code still work?

Yes it will. They had to make the dragon armour cross platform in order not to screw the ps3 users since there is no me ps3 version.

Not sure exactaly how it will work. Whether you will need to use the dragon armor code on your life account or whether there's an ea account systems for the xbox 360.

Cool. I see little details are coming our way. Im on Noveria with my Level 52 Vanguard. Forgot to save for 20min, coz i feel so unstopable. Now ir dead and need to redo a whole lot of crap. It Suxorz. Insanity can be quite challenging, especially with those swarming enemy types. Husks & Droids specifically. Also the AI can be SOOOO stupid sometimes. Looking forward to see what they changed with the Companion AI in 2. I saw something in the vids that looks like you will have a kinda stamina thing going for abilities not those painful recharge times of ME1.
 
For some reason Subject Zero isn't one of that characters im looking forward 2. Im more curious about Garrus and Tali. Guess we will see come release day.
 
Are they gonna make some changes to the cover system in Mass Effect 2? Because i'm busy playing Mass Effect and I hardly have to use it.
