Mass Effect 3 Thread

for me it's not a bad ending, just one that makes no sense

so for me the game hasn't actually ended as i've no closure

i'd like to believe that even though crap went pear shaped things worked out semi ok

in the words of Adam Savage: "I reject your reality and substitute my own."

Ending didn't phase me. Still a great game. When I have time I want to start the series from ME1.

I myself want to start from ME1 and play my way through to ME3.

Every day i look at the icons on my desktop and wonder.. will today be the day i start my journey.. again? lol :D

I just remembered a conversation Shepard has with Garrus: "I had reach, but she had flexibility". Classic ME moments:D

I doubt it will really make a difference, the only way it would have made sense in a meaningful way is if the Indoctrination theory was actually legit, but since they have said it's not and the extended cut only 'fills' out the poo that was already there I don't see a point.

The Indoctrination theory would have been awesome and would have been better than anything I could dream of (and apparently better than anything Bioware can dream of as well).

I don't think they can really fix the ending if they're going to stick to their ending as-is and just expanding on it. (secretly hoping to be proven wrong)... Actually, to be honest, with how they built the expectations up during the development of ME2 and ME3, I don't really think they can fix the ending in any way to satisfy expectations now. With everything Bioware said, I was actually expecting a game where choices in the first two games had the kind of impact that will cause the story to branch out... almost like Witcher 2 after the first chapter.

One of the big problems for me with how they made this game (and I've probably mentioned this before), is replayability... Where I played ME1 and ME2 probably over 10 times each, I don't see myself playing ME3 more than 3 times... and this game had the potential to keep me busy for a year. I've played the game 1.5 times so far so I'll just finish that half game when they release the DLC and that experience will determine if I'll at all be bothered to play through a third time.

Jeez this thread is inactive... Anyway, just wondering if anyone's ever tried playing ME3 the way it wasn't meant to be played: As a 3rd person shooter with no decisions?

Anyway with the ending. I personally think it was okay but there were so many inconsistencies. (spoiler) Why is Joker running away? Mass relay destruction means the destruction of nearly everything surrounding it - in the codex somewhere. Which means at the end of mass effect 3, because the known civilization is built around mass relays everyone dies more or less.???!

I also noticed that. And remember Shepherd destroyed that on Mass Relay in the Arrival DLC which destroyed the Batarian (Was it the Batarians?) Home world. So several planets including Earth would have been destroyed.

Unrelated to extended ending discussion: How many people have used the default sheps? I have yet to use any of them

Well in ME3 the default settings had half the characters from previous games being dead. So no Wrex, Jack, Zieed, Asari Templar chick or Drell dude.

Here are the endings if you aren't interested in playing through them again.

Control: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5J-QDTM8Zk
Destroy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgYYYmzr7_A
Synthesis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFzrRz6Dc0Y

I watched the control ending and it filled in a lot of plot holes and actually showed you that you had saved the Universe not fked it over. I won't spoil the rest but it's worth a watch at least. It still didn't really give you any sense of your decisions mattering too much other than the choices at the end but at least it did try show some results of what you did.

well damn Bioware, wth didn't you do this in the first place?

went with destroy again, as always but fuck now it's awesome

I went with synthesis again. And I'll freely admit I pussied out and had a sniffle.

Much better conclusion to the story.

The mind boggles why the fuck they didn't do this in the first place :wtf:
