Modern Warfare 2 subscription video emerges, Activision denies

Never. And that is also why I will never play WoW. Why the moer must I keep paying for the same thing over and over? It must be the dumbest thing ever from a gamer point of view, but brilliant from the developer/producer because the get money for jam every month like clockwork.

As one who had the same opinion of WoW before I can tell you know with WOW being as dynamic as vast as it it, it does justify itself even if just for a few moths.

Omega that's because rpg's offer something more.

a fps like cod would get stale extremely fast as P2P game...

Oh yeah, no doubt. I was simply replying to what Sweep said.

Paying for something like COD... i cant imagine it.

lol, this would be a big mistake if they do try pull this.

I can assure you people will no pay to play COD online.

i mean look at it this way.

Xbox folks already pay for live, why the heck would the buy the game and pay yet another monthly on top of their live sub?

makes no sense...

although i'm sure someone will come along and try to justify it...

Remember how they where not going to buy mw2 because of no dedicated server and they still did? Righ so whats to say they won't do the same with this pay to play model for cod. Most say they won't pay to play it but do so in the end.

Im guessing becuase non off that Xbox membership money goes to Activision, and becuase he is such a greedy $#&*$&,he thinks this is a good idea :p

If they do,Im just glad becuase were going to see alot off people coming to the battlefield franchise :D

I will never pay fees to play a game like that. what a greedy thing to do. And you know what people are going to pay for it no matter what people say about it:(

There is a way in which the masses will gladly pay to play an FPS, its called a persistent battlefield
If they implement that I see this becoming a reality very quickly.
There are already three AAA studios working on some content for titles that implement this feature

Would you pay for it?

If the landscaped kept changing and keep adding stuff then sure I might pay for it 32v32 anyone I wish would be way to hectic open world is this even possible? APB style comes to mind.

Well I personally don't see a problem in paying R20-R50 a month to play a fps, bad company 2 is certainly worth it and with that the DLC's should be free.

I've always dreamed(if I one day get to make my own games) of making a pay to play subscription, but with increased use comes decreased cost.

I still think any pay to play system is a ripoff. Yes, you regularly get new content, but why should I be forced to pay to play? What if I don't want all the new content? Surely that should be the consumers choice. Yes I know servers would automatically be upgraded to the new versions and then you couldn't play anyway, but I still don't like the system. Why not rather make it a DLC option?

I also know that Activision, Blizzard et al also couldn't give a shit about how I feel, but luckily none of the games I play have this system anyway.

What I do love though is how so many people bitch about having to pay for DLC, but for years we've been happy to pay for expansion packs and pay to play games. What is bloody annoying though is that we now can't even host dedicated server LANs or have community inputs by means of maps etc. The studios have simply realised that gamers are suckers and will pay money for things they didn't used to.

If gamers really wanted to make a statement to a studio/developer, do a complete and utter boycott of their product. I promise, when Mr CEO realises his cash cow has died, he will sit up and take note.
