MW3? Don't buy this crap.....

Was overpriced then... and is overpriced now. BF3 is a lot cheaper for a much better MP and not such a worse off SP

Oky so a R100 is way more overpriced for a game that actually works??? I see your logic there.

How much time and money has people spent on getting BF3 to run properly, 4GB patch + 500MB on launch, R120 for DLC (If COD charges for DLC its absolute BS but hey if EA does it its oky). So yeah BF3 is a lot cheaper ill agree.

Dude both games are epic in their own rights. I take both of them for what they are. But sitting here and just saying a game is shit becuase its a R100 more is mildly lazy thinking.

well one example:
The BC2 weapon system and BF3 Weapon system are VERY different

3 upgrade slots in BF3

BC2, no such thing as upgrade slots at all....it used a different system....

thats just a small example...

but small changes that was made to MW3 doesn't count and makes it the same game?

I do not need to pay for the dlc?

and BF3 had new stuff in it so it is worth paying the 320. MW3 might work better but they hardly had anything new to test and that would be buggy.

Yeh it is a different game and therefore more content for gamers. But they charge a lot of money for a new story. But i guess supply and demand dictates that.

I have been a big COD fan since the original. My support has waned as I have not been wowed by the game since WaW. It is sad but they treated the creators badly.

The good news is that the original creators have a new studio and we could see something special from them in the future.

Until then we have to put up with rehashed and familiar.

I have not played Mw3, cant comment?

But from what i have seen, its pretty much the same, same gameplay etc

Another example is the complete change to Helicopters for BC2 to Bf3, they are not alike, the additions and changes made are numerous, the way Helicopters work have changed, its hard for cod to be anything else, because it is known for what it is, COD. People dont need to be hating on cod, if you dont like it, feel its boring hasn't change enough...dont play it, atm i just have zero interest in it, not because i don't like it just because i spend my time on BF3 atm...

in the end, i dont see cod changing for a while still...i think the biggest gripe is that COD is not moving forward, people want DX11, new engines etc, new innovations...cod is'nt doing that, because it has no need to, its still selling clearly :)

Mate pre-order prices shouldnt be used in an arguement. Becuase then i might aswell say i paid R385 for MW3 becuase i bought it from the distributor.

What is the new stuff in BF3?

Have you played any MP of MW2, Black Ops and MW3?

Fair enough, but i still see both games main concept being the same, so pretty much the same but little changes in each game here and there.

Trust me, would also like them to move on a little, get better engine ect, but like you said, doubt they will cause their current recipe seems to be working.

Hopefully another NEW fps title can come along in the near future!

Maybe its not so much about mw3 being a crap game, its just that bf3 is more fun right now(WAY BETTER GAME;)).

So no one cleared it up, are there dedicated servers for mw3?

Yes there is.

My point is ive played BF3 more than MW3 and i can honestly tell you that neither is better than the other for me. I enjoy them both for what they both are. No one can objectively tell me BF3 is better than MW3 becuase you know deep down inside its BS. Its problems drags down the positives very quickly if you want to objectively look at it.

How do you join the servers? i always only connect to P2P games, damn host always changes and ONLY ever get games on TDM :(

Like Buzz, I haven't played MW3. My first & last MP experience with the CoD franchise was CoD4. Nothing that blew my skirt up with the game play, everyone either camp or tank.
Raved for MW2 but the negative reviews put me off and I bought BC2 instead. Never looked back since.

I like fridge's attitude, he played both, he can give his opinion about both....

One of the reasons i think that MW3 is given so much slack is due the P2P thing for MW2, people felt betrayed by IW for not using Dedicated servers, i experienced P2P, it was fine when it worked but my biggest gripe was often i had to wait for games etc, overseas, theres more people and WAAAAY better interwebz so perhaps the P2P system on PC seems feasible then, the biggest hate against MW3 comes from PC players. FACT

What concerns me about COD now is that they are not technologically pushing the envelope, if this were the case for all other games, we might not have seen such a huge progression in GPU technology, Amd and nvidia may say whats the point of us making stronger more advanced GPU's when no games out there WANT to utilise the technology?

That is my concern, however, change isn't always good, an eg would be Brian Lara cricket 2005, was my fav game on the ps2, when 2007 came out, i was super stoked , i expected the same game with new players and few additions, but i wanted the same, 2007 was nothing alike, not even close, it was horrible, this is an example of having a winning formula and messing it up.

Basically COD: "has the winning forumla"

BF3 "trying to develope the winning formula"

IMO Dice have a winning formula now, more then ever, they need to keep this formula and improve on it....

i leave you with this saying "the wolf on the hill is not as hungry as the wolf trying to get up on the hill"

I am not saying that it is hugely more expensive than BF3. Just that it is less good for its price than BF3.

I have played every COD since the first, well except the one that was console. They are good games, but i just feel like we are paying for the same thing over and over lately. The SP has a good story, but other than that the feel is very similar to other recent CODs.

I am not saying it is a terrible game and that people should not buy it. I am saying that Activision need to do something new with the games.

BF3 does have many problems but they are at least trying to make the game special. And it will be when the issues are sorted.

I just think it is sad that we are being pushed with new content as a new game.

In your settings there's an option where you can turn on Dedicated servers, it will then add a Dedicated servers option (server browser) to the main menu :)

I get what you guys are saying. But generally i feel people are just hating on COD becuase they can. The game is fun, actually its a lot of fast paced fun. Thats the bottom line. COD has never and i hope never been based around graphics and destruction. Call of Duty is suppose to be fast paced small map one man army type of multiplayer. That is what Call of Duty is about. They execute that principle in every single COD title since COD 4 in my opinion.

I could argue the merits and demerits of P2P but it works well when a lot of guys are online. Im not the biggest fan of p2p but then again i also dont have an issue with it when the host is good. Im from the competitive side of the local cod community so i mainly play unranked games so the fact that the dedicated servers are only on unranked does not bother me what so ever.

Look i would love a new COD game soon but i enjoy this engine a lot and Activision might be seen as money sucking Vampires but i ask of you where would gaming and competitive gaming have been if Activision/Blizzard werent around?

Love them or Hate them they are a needed force in the world of gaming.

Now if EA can only learn to make a proper game outside of BF, Fifa and the American sport titles.

Granted. But fpsers were built off of COD's innovations... which has slowed dramatically.

I dont mind if there are no leaps and bounds in their iterations, but at least bring something new to the table.

BF3 may have been too ambitious with trying out new technology all over the place. Origin didnt need to be built for the release. Battlelog is great but trying too many things at once is likely to lead to problems.

At least they tried though. New engine plus content is hard. And next release will probably be smoother and built on the successes of BF3.

CoD is same ol'. Not necessarily bad but not really as exciting as some people say. Is it worth R400 over mw2/blops? Is the online experience that much different?

It is lank fun getting new unlocks... but it makes the game uneven.

Also if you just want to play fps and not have to worry about your how to unlock items you want it could be really cool.
