Neo,
I totally agree with you. One might argue that it's noble from MWeb to do this. I have a different opinion. MWeb's gripe might be with IPSs that don't want to peer with them for free, but it's the gamers who are customers of these ISPs that lose out. They claim they want to eradicate SA form companies, like Telkom & MTN, which use "big brother" tactics, uncompetitive behavior etc, but MWeb are now using the same tactics to the detriment of gamers who are not MWeb customers.
Does MWeb think that they can force non-MWeb gamers to join them? Maybe it will work, but I also plead with the gaming community to push back. Like Neo stated - "look at the bigger picture". If they can get away with this one-sided oppressive tactics, what's next?
It seems you and Neo are both looking into a postage stamp and claiming it's "the bigger picture" that we're all missing. My 2c.
LOL yeah, we're looking to a postage stamp, just like the MD of MTN SA? I think not guys. Like I said, there's a lot going on the business background here. More than what you're even thinking about. Mark my words, companies like MTN and SAIX (Telkom) are not going to peer with MWEB - Why? - Because it means someone loses out on money.
YOU LIE!!!1! MWEB is a business and not a charity?!?! I need to drop them immediately then...
EDIT: You're blaming MWEB for your problems, and not Telkom. I mean really... you don't see why people don't take you seriously on this issue?
Look dude, you need to get one thing very straight. I have absolutely NO problems. The whole MWEB peering thing affects me about as much as your opinion matters to me. I'm just stating that the people on here shouting "free the web" are being fundamentally daft. Damn hippies.
