[MyGame] Dark Souls

If you have gotten the basement key, i think you get to lower undead burg from where you met solaire. At the dragon. But darkroot will be the next step for you before you go to lower undead. Good luck finding the secret bonfire in the garden [emoji3]

I went to lower Undead Burg for now. Defeated the Capra Demon (took 3 or 4 tries). I'm now at a massive rat in the Depths. Will fight him tomorrow, and after him there is a fog door and I already saw there is a huge, open area after it. That can only mean bad things :D

Did you make it passed all the weird frogs thing? Cause if you did without getting cursed, well done. You do not want to get cursed.

Yeah. I accidentally fell through a hole and found myself with the weird frog gecko things. Killed them all and found the vendor guy with the crystal swords. Nearly bought the shield, luckily I saw it isn't repairable.

Yeah blight town is just past the vendor. Now the fun begins. Also another vendor I accidentally killed.

So what class is everybody playing as? I recall playing Pyro in my original attempt at DS1

I chose Hunter since I've tried the Wanderer and Pyro before. But from what I've read, your starting class mainly determines how your early game will go and that as you progress you can tailor your character to how you want them to be.

I'm playing as a cleric.
Blazzok, aren't you taking the Darkroot Garden path? Or have you done that already? I rang the first bell this morning and then proceeded to farm 40000 souls which took forever! Just so that I could buy Karmic Justice from that weird guy in the Bell Tower. I hope it's worth it!

I killed the thing on the way to the Garden and then got to the next bonfire after which I quit for now.

Playing as a Knight.

I didn't know where to go next :3
So I went to lower undead burg and ended up in the depths.
I did kill the Titanite Demon which stands in front of the Darkroot Garden entrance (I suppose that is the garden, I didn't go far enough in to see a name for the area).

I'm not sure if I should have gone to the garden first, but I haven't had a hard a time in lower undead, so I'll continue for now I think

I'm also not sure where to go. I'm following the same route I did last time I played. Hehe will decide later where to go.

In the Depths you can take on the Gaping Dragon to get the key that unlocks the door from Depths -> Blighttown. If you started with the Master Key you can skip that and go in around the back route through the Valley of Drakes and skip the Gaping Dragon fight, although I wouldn't recommend it as it's one of the easier bosses.

You have to go through Blighttown to get to the second bell which unlocks more areas of the game. Good luck in Blighttown, though. It's one of the most frustrating, but satisfying areas to go through. I suggest farming Darkroot Garden tree monsters for purple moss. Trust me on that one. ;)

Edit: Also, if you're going through Blighttown, maybe get the Spider Shield. It blocks poison attacks. I can't remember where I picked it up but it is amazing.

I started as a Thief and now a Dex character using the Spider Shield, Silver Knight Spear and Shadow Armor set. Some bosses are giving me hell, but that spear is amazing.

Lots of information to process, but thanks.

I do have the Master Key, but I probably won't skip the boss. I also already picked up the Spider Shield, however it doesn't say anywhere that it blocks poison (that I saw).

So I should do Darkroot Garden before going to Blighttown?

I went Blighttown before Darkroot, but I don't think it matters super much. Darkroot eventually runs up into a dead end anyway. I always try to get Blighttown done first because it's the most frustrating area in the game for me.

I'm not sure if it's in the description, but the Spider Shield blocks any poison attacks. Even if they deal health damage, your poison bar won't increase as long as you're blocking. Unfortunately it doesn't help for running through poison pools.

Made it to Blighttown.

After taking this screen I found the Shadow set of armor. Now I don't have to run around in the Pyromancer rags anymore lol.

The shield description only says resistant to poison. I would have taken that as reduced damaged, not 100% negation, but good to know.

I had to use a guide now, I was stuck. Killed the giant rat and all the basilisks again, and the fog door only revealed a caster and some rats. Had nowhere else to go.

I had walked up to the platform that looked over the large area below previously, but didn't see you can walk further if you go around the corner to your right. I feel so stupid for missing it.

I explored the Darkroot Garden and killed the boss there. Then I ventured into Darkroot Basin which probably wasn't a good idea. After which I made my way to the Undead Burg.
