[MyGame] Dark Souls

I eventually turned around in Blighttown. I forgot about the water at the bottom! Last time I had a ring that makes you walk normally in water so I went to go find that again. Found it but couldn't beat the Stray Demon. It one shot kills me. So I went and did some farming and upgraded some of my gear. I really need some Endurance! Will focus on that the next couple of times I level up.

From what I know, there is no quick way from Anor Londo to the Gardens (unless you can Teleport). Anor Londo > Sen's Fortress > Undead Burg > Darkroot Garden

If memory serves me, you should be able to jump bonfires once done in Anor Londo, once you have seen the "great chest ahead" (Gwynevere).

If you frequently level up does it increase the amount of souls required to up a stat with each successive leveling?

As opposed to amassing a crapload of souls at once without leveling up and then using it?

the amount of souls needed for each successive level up increases, regardless of the amount of souls you have.

Now you tell me there is a ring for that? Where?

Also haven't encountered the Stray Demon. Suppose it is in the area where the ring is?

Edit: I can't use the bonfire in Firelink Shrine anymore because the Fire Keeper is dead. What do? I found this black eye thing that will take me to face her murderer, however I can't use it. Do I have to go to Anor Londo to use it?

<insert sinister laugh>

Remember on TS we spoke about you freeing a certain shady individual?

... oh Lautrec

I have been looking for him at Firelink Shrine after freeing him, but couldn't find him. That bastard. So how do I use this eye thing so I can murder him?

Also, can the fire ever be rekindled?

How does one get to Sif and the Hydra? Currently in Anor Londo..

I'd suggest finishing up Anor Londo first, because it gives you an item to teleport to specific bonfires. Otherwise I think you have to go back through Sen's Fortress.

How did the rest of you find Sen's, btw? It was the most demotivating thing I've had to go through all game. Getting to the last set of traps and then dying and redoing 10 minutes of progress. Ouch!

It will happen naturally as you progress. At one point in the story it will start vibrating and then you can use it.

And btw, good luck for that fight. You're going to need it. ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't part of the mechanic that the controller vibrated so that you knew something was causing it? at least on PS3 it did iirc

I went into the inner gardens area, killed all the "Class" NPC's, killed the 3 cats as well as the one punch shrooms. I stopped before going into the huge area which I assume is where the wolf is.

Currently wearing 3/4 Stone Armor pieces (to stay under 50% weight), still using my Claymore, although I did pick up the Zweihander. So I'm upping my strength so I can use that, I think it will be better than the Claymore.

I looked down onto the Hydra from the inner gardens. It is huge! I have no idea how I'm going to fight that.

I will (hopefully) kill the wolf tomorrow and then move on the Sen's.

Have you rang the second bell in yet? I think you need to do that before you can go to Sen's.

That ring that makes you be able to walk normally in water is back where you started. In the Undead Asylum. To get to it is a different matter altogether. It involves jumping out of the elevator as it goes up from Firelink and then rolling from the one ledge to another to get a key that's on the roof of that Firelink building. Then climbing into the crow's nest and rolling up into a ball and be taken back.

Oh wow, yeah would never have found that.

And yes, I already rang the second bell. It's after you kill the "Blighttown" boss.

Wow nicely done! I've fallen quite a bit behind you after this weekend. I've decided I'm going to take on the Basin now and take out the Hydra and then complete Blighttown.

I have no idea how to fight that hydra. It's difficult just to get close. I'll wait for you to kill it first :D

So far my plan is to finish the inner Gardens and then go to Sen's.

I'm only at the Taurus Demon now and this game has already broken my spirit.... again

Noo! You can do it! Strangely enough I find it much easier this time around. It's as if something clicked.

With the bosses I found the easiest thing to do is to become human and then summon someone to help you. You do get invaded sometimes but that's part of the fun. :)

yeah the game overall seems a bit easier but coming from Bloodborne now it's a completely new play style again.

And it's not even so much the Taurus Demon that gets to me. It's the long ass way I have to run to get to him again after dying

Until you meet Ornstein and Smough.

Last time around I quit while I was busy with Sen's Fortress. I thought I'd just put the game aside for a bit and then get back to it. Now years later I had to start again. :)

So I'm a bit worried that the reason everything seems so much easier now is because I'm replaying everything I did before. I guess we'll see when I get to the fortress again.
