[MyGame] Dark Souls

Ugh, the Capra Demon just killed me 10 times in a row. Crazy stuff. If he doesn't slam me into the ground the moment I step through the gate, the dogs pin me down until he can kill me. I've tried making a run for the stairs like I used to do, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. :(

Have you tried the cheese method of lobbing black fire bombs over the fog gate?

I'm seriously starting to consider it now. Just need to find enough firebombs. :p

Capra Demon - winner of my coveted Nope Award. Took one look at him, abandoned all my honor and cheated like a little shit.

Weirdly I kicked his ass on NG+ without even trying

I'm starting to think the Winged Spear was a bad idea. It does so little damage, even upgraded to +3 and fully repaired. I'm trying to find a replacement but it seems that only comes much later in the game.

if you are too heavy maybe dump some gear so you can make the runs and doge better get up those stairs. Also always remeber dont get cocky, but im sure you know all that already :D i just wanted to throw in my 5c because dark souls

Haha, no worries. I'm running with the Thief starter set so very light. He kept doing this overhead double attack that I had a lot of trouble dodging. I just lobbed a few firebombs over the wall so all good now. :D

This game is ridiculously addictive. I've got Battlefleet Gothic: Armada and Mars: War Logs that I also want to play, but I spend about 10 minutes in those before coming back to DS. I don't know, but I just feel DS1 is unsurpassed. I loved 2 and 3, but there's just something special about the first.

Damn the Capra Demon wasn't kind on my light build. Plus those mangy dogs were a real pain! Pyromancy and those stairs came to my rescue though :). Off to the Depths next.

For anyone battling with Capra, an easy(ish) solution without cheesing and I found rather usefull:

Enter boss fog.
Run straight passed everything and up the stairs, the dogs should follow, dispatch of them.
Use the height of the stairs to perform a plunging attack on Capra and repeat.

Again, make use of the environments. Each boss area accommodates for this.

So much cheese

Yay I helped out some people as an apparition and got quite a few souls that way. I'm ready for the Bell Tower. Struggled to get rid of the sorcerer in that building but managed it in the end. Tomorrow it's ringing the bell time!

So, after yesterday's rage quitting, tonight has been a really good night for me and Dark Souls. I managed to get past the dragon, beat the armoured boar, I beat the black knight, and that sorcerer thing that shoots the blue electrified spunk. So as things stand, I'm taking on the gargoyles, but my word that's a tough fight so far. I'll go away for now, and when I'm back next week, I'll be fresh and ready to take on the gargoyles. Also picked up the boar horn hemlet thingy, which makes my character look like such a badass. I also managed to get the halberd, which is an awesome weapon. All in all, a really good night in game. I had so much fun after the frustration I had previously. So glad I progressed further and got so many cool items.

I feel my evening was not so successful, with wasting almost an hour on the black knight on top of the tower. Not sure which direction to go next. I think I want to try and kill the lightning asshole (think it is a titanite demon?), otherwise I'll probably also go and visit the Gargoyles.

Or perhaps I'll try the black knight again, maybe I'll do better this time :3

Good night for me, defeated the Taurus demon, kicked the ladder, rested at the bonfire and then went on to take out the boar with the skulls, fire and some deft arrows to the rear. Was nervous for my fight against the regular knights after that though since I didn't have any more estus flasks but I carefully got past that and headed for the bonfire by the blacksmith. That's me for tonight.

This is if the dogs don't get in your way lol. First time I played the game it took me over 20 tries to kill him. :(

Pull the knight out into the open and then get right up to him with shield up, circle him anti-clockwise until you can get in a backstab, then rinse and repeat until dead. This was my method until I could face them head on later.

Thanks, I'll try that! :)

I learned early to dodge to his right, that damn underarm swing attack of his is brutal.

Anyone know where I can grab a good Dex weapon early on? Using the Scimitar at the moment, but I'm not sure if I should start upgrading it yet.
