MyGaming suggestion box

Hehe yeah sorry shadowfox. Thank you for the rep. :)

I was so excited by the idea that every now and then I would come and check. Not feeling as obsessive today. :)

I really like MalicE's idea. If that is implemented plus we get something like MAPI going then it will really be a lot more content at MyGaming. The more content, the more opinions, the more opinions, the more posts. And we will see MyGaming grow.

The nice thing about MaliceE's idea is that as part of MAPI people can create posts like the one he did. This is a nice way to get the user opinions of games and get them to vote.

Thanks for the suggestion. Members posting links to interesting topics and creating discussions is of course highly encouraged. I will be keeping this idea in mind for another plan we have. I will obviously keep you guys posted.

Cool, I look forward to see what the plan is. :)

Hi everyone,

Just popping in to say I haven't forgotten about the various good suggestions.

This week Jeremy is on holiday so I'm stoically keeping the MyGaming news site running - it's keeping me nice and busy!

That is not 'nice'.

the iphone app will that be updated soon, ie having the news section on there etc.

The app is the branded vBulletin app, so any improvements will have to come from them.

You can also try the free TapaTalk app to connect to the forum

You can browse the news site through your browser. We will be fixing the layout soon - embarrassingly it's a bit broken at the moment.

Now uhm james if you would want to submit a bug report to Vbulletin so they can have the taptalk app fixed how would one go about doing that? :p

I know that I'm probably just lazy and this is just a suggestion, but can't we get a field on our profile to capture our Steam ID? Or perhaps start using one of the commonly unused fields like Biography or Occupation to capture it. It will make finding someone's Steam ID a bit quicker.
I've put "SteamID: ViperGTI" in my Biography field as an example.

Just a suggestion... use it, don't use it :)

If your new to steam and have not done this go here.
If you go under Community-->Profile-->edit profile--> Custom URL and put in your nick there then its also a lot easier finding a person.

good idea Viper! you should mention it in the suggestion box perhaps for James to look into.

I saw GRRR has a steam link function on their forum and it looks like they're using the same system as MyG, so it could be possible to implement it into your profile

Just some history of what was going on in the other (aka Wrong) thread. Is something like this possible that Malice mentioned?

Anyone want to meet them?

Sign me up for the 2nd one on the left :p

I don't think MyGaming chooses the ads at the bottom (AdSense), they're more a reflection of the user's interests based on previously visited pages and other info...

AdSense (and AdChoice) by extension will use the site's content to decide which ads to show. But it also uses location data and a couple of hundred other signals, which include details entered by the advertisers themselves (this would probably be the main signal - demographic targeting). If you look at a site like Asianbeauties.com, who do you figure their main target demographic would be?

Males - ages 25 - 34.

Take a wild guess what myGaming has a lot of :p
