MyGaming suggestion box

A section for user content would actually be quite nice, but it would be hard to implement it in such a way that people's content don't get lost in a sea of other people's content.

I thought I replied on that ... Anyway I don't expect payment from you guys (The MyGaming Team). I'm one of your oldest members and I enjoy it here, if I can add more value to the site as I have always tried to do then I'll do just that. :)

My grammar tends to be a bit shoddy at times but I do try. :o

I didn't get anything.

I wouldn't know where to start.

To become a better writer, you have to write.

True, however, there are literary tools, techniques, and other things that you pick up on through education in the relevant fields.

I have read things you just know were written by some person who, while they may have a good opinion/good knowledge of what they are talking about, isn't that able to express themselves properly by avoiding tired cliches, grammatical errors, repeating themselves etc.

That type of stuff is fine in a 'personal capacity'/opinion column type thing but when you are wanting a professional news related website then you don't just want anyone writing stuff for you.

Interested writers are welcome to submit an article proposal to me via PM or e-mail: [email protected]

I will try and respond timeously. Note we cannot pay freelance writers at this stage.

While (as always) I will edit all articles published on MyGaming, the ability to write clearly and concisely and with correct grammar usage is an obvious requirement.

I have that problem. I know what it is I want to say, but I have trouble with the how to say it.

Count me in!! :) I'll get it to you tomorrow.

Edit: since you said that you're yet to make a journo out of me I'll try my utmost to submit something worth while. :)

Unfortunately sites like Polygon have massive offices, staff contingents, and multimedia teams. Between Jeremy and I, we simply don't have time for this.

What I miss is the humor in the site... But that was Tarryn's job.. And now that she's gone I feel like your reviews etc. Are missing something...

And BTW! You guys do play games in your free time RIGHT? So why not just record random gameplay with Forum members ( I've noticed you and Waco play a few Co-op games for the sake of the review IE dead space 3) and upload it to youtube etc and write an article about it.

OR! The forumies willing to help you guys out can make these type of videos... Just my 2c :)

I like the idea of UGC. Maybe like once or twice a month something from a forumite can be posted. But I do understand that really great content can be hard to come by.

Remember the competition for UGC? That was pretty cool. Some good things came out of that. Perhaps do that once in a while and incentivise the whole thing. Something small but still pretty cool. Like a PS+ 90 day membership.

With all the mentions of UGC - the forum does have a blog function. Although at some point in the past the module was removed from the front page, so it doesn't get any attention anymore, which is a little bit sad - although I vaguely remember someone ranting there about how unfair the mods were (deja vu), so maybe that was why :p

Hey I have a suggestion.

It would be great for you guys to put more links in the articles. Just one I saw today was this: http://mygaming.co.za/news/pc/52218-double-fine-adventure-is-broken-age.html

So often there is an article about say a new Kickstarter or a new game and then there is no link to the relevant pages. It's annoying because then I have to open up Google and search for the game etc. instead of just clicking on the link in the article.

Yeah they do this a lot. Another similar issue is articles about gadgets and other products, that never mention where you can buy them.

Is there a place where we can suggest articles to be written? Perhaps Jeremy and James can use some of our ideas when they are looking for something to write.
