MyGaming suggestion box

I've got a suggestion.

Since the forum is full people spamming useless bs, I suggest more monitoring. From what I know it's a very small crew running the website, and James has responsobilities on MyBB as well, how about choosing forum mods ( those who don't mind volunteering ) from our community? We can have a poll, and the community can then vote on who will become a forum mod. The admin can then give the chosen one mod priviledges.

I'll quote James here, hopefully he doesn't mind

Currently we do not need any moderators as the community is good at self-regulation.

Members can help out by reporting any dodgy posts that appear.

We won't be appointing any new mods. Reporting posts is the best way to alert us to any "BS" posts. Right now Eugene is my star reporter

James why isn't the "what are you playing now" thread in general gaming stickied. The thread is the most posted thread in the topic.

Yeah somewhere a bit more obvious. At the moment it is so hidden that I fear the new people don't know where to go so duplicates become a dime a dozen

Is the "Points for Tags Given" broken? I gave some threads tags and nothing world shattering happened.

Not sure where to post this, but is anyone else experiencing problems with the home page opening a cached page?

It started on Sunday / Monday I think when I started getting email notifications from MyGaming saying that someone responded to some of my subscribed threads, but the email notifications were for threads that were responded to days before. The emails are not the issue, but thought I'd mention it since it seems to point to something being changed on MyGaming.

Anyway, ever since then, whenever I open MyGaming, I basically get the page I saw the last time I visited MyGaming. I have to explicitly hit the browser's refresh button to load the latest articles.

Hi, we are aware of the caching problem. The host updated their server OS and now we need to update the site caching code *sigh*

As for the search feature, I've got a few things I want to implement and fix on the forum side, so I'm making a list because we want to give the developer everyone to do at once.

For search, a simple Google search plugin will likely be the best way to go.

And the tags? Or does it refer to something completely different?
