NAG LAN @ rAge 2011 - tickets on sale 1 August

Nag lan = fail. Every just pirates shit all weekend thats all.

I wonder if there would be a lan if the organisers had a backbone to ban all forms of sharing and just catered for gaming, but $$$ right ?

:e
Got to chuckle each time at that since safact is normally right around the corner.

I KNOW LOL. But I prefer playing games in the comfort of my own home. And it gets annoying that people like force you to take a 12 month old nag mag.

rAge as a whole has lost its appeal. The LAN is seriously overrated. There is nothing the LAN offers I cannot get at home. In fact, it's worse. Smelly kids, no sleeping place, extremely crappy and expensive food, uncomfortable chairs after a few hours, super leechers and a generally crusty environment. I know for many this is the be all and end all, but after 2 or 3 rAges myself, I say enjoy it if it's your first time.

As for the expo, I attended that and wow, what a bore. I said the same thing last year and I'll say it again. What's the point? Bar maybe one or two stands, no one has any significant specials to make attending remotely worthwhile. There is hardly any new tech or games ever on display, so again, what's the point. And yes, SA is not on the list of major manufacturers or game developers' lists to spend big moolah on, but this is sadly what makes rAge boring. People attend a computer & gaming expo to see fancy new gadgets and new or upcoming game releases and rAge sadly struggles to offer this.
Part of the problem is the fact that the exhibitors pay an arm and two legs for floor space inside the Dome to sell anything, so they can't really afford to give discounts or specials. As I mentioned, sunny SA is not high on the list of priorities for major developers or manufacturers to show off their latest goodies and this also impacts negatively. The market here is simply too small for them to justify spending major cash to keep us happy.

In any case, enough ranting about rAge. rAge has huge potential, I just hope that NAG realises this before too many people lose interest.

On a side note ,what will happen if someone calls the cops to go raid their one day and see all the pirating going on?

Ill be going to the expo if i want to leach i would go to liberty lan far cheaper and probably has lots more of new stuff.

I might not make it this year as my work is keeping me busy these days.

I've been going for 5 years now and I've been wishing that I could have a more laid back rAge. Every year it's been clan match after clan match from 9am till 6pm on the Saturday. This'll be the first one where I'll be taking it easy for once.

I keep saying want to go every year, but always ends up being a bit of a expensive schlepp to do it.
One day... (when it's in CPT) :p

I think the 1st Nag Lan was awesome......maybe even the second one but from there it's all been crap. And it's making the whole RAGE crap because the Nag Lan keeps getting bigger while the actual Expo gets smaller!!

Hmm, I've been wanting to go for years except I've always had a work conference the same weekend except this year. I'm planning on going but I'm wondering now if I should seeing the responses here, although it appears that the first year is good then not worth it afterwards. Opinions?
