Need for Speed III Being remade with Cry engine 3

The images look pretty crappy but it looks quite good in the video, though that might have something to do with the speed.

Just to remind everyone what NFSIII looked like


Still DOHC it's Cryengine 3, the visual expectations for it are really high since it's synonymous with Crysis

I remember there was the Elnino car unlock, but can't remember the other one. Was it that FZR or was that part of NFS2SE along with the Tombstone?

I liked NFS2SE more though. Actually bought it twice back then :D
 
Los die gedagte mense. Re-make Underground 2 using a current-gen Engine asb. We need full car modification back again.

I also think so, but the problem with the whole street racing/modding cars genre is that they (have to) use the same cars the whole time:

Supra
Eclipse
R34 GTR
RX7
S2000
Silvias
Civics
Evos
STI Subarus

and even though they add new cars, the above are pretty much the best for what's considered both affordable and modifiable so the game becomes about them whether you add new cars or not.

The car modification stuff they brought in with the Underground series ruined the game for me. It became all "Fast n Furious". I liked picking a stock standard car and going on a high speed chase with the police.

Hollywood ruined NFS!

But you can do that now, it's all you can do now? Also... you don't have to modify your car (in Underground you did but I don't remember it being a requirement in Most Wanted)
 
Modding was never compulsory, so I don't see how it could be an issue. Grid 2 has some customisation but its limited to paint and tyres. I loved underground 2, modding your car and then showing it off to the guys in the dorm, it was fun.
 
If you are really feeling so nostalgic, then there is a NFS game that is like that but doesn't feel cheap or old.
