no seskom price increase petition

No matter the petition do you really think they are going to run at a lost? I mean sure there ceo's get million in PERFORMANCE bonuses.... but hey anc say's its okay
 
It's a monopoly, we can get everyone in the entire country to sign and they will still hike their prices. Does signing this actually have any impact on their decision?
 
Ja peeps what are 2 sec of your time now. that's all it takes. for example if 1 person says that his vote doesn't make that much different it ends up a tie that person could've made a difference
 
Oh please sighning that is like pissing in the ocean you cant do anything about it. Until we have people who know what they are doing in this country its just going to get worse.
 
The government can bail them out like they bailed out South African Airways on numerous occassions :p
 
this petition won't help, it's pointless. ANC seriously mismanaged the energy parastal and we have to fit the bill. fact
 
There is no point to signing this petition. As someoe already stated - Eskom is a monopoly. The only way to have an impact on them is for the retail market (normal people and small/medium/larg but not electricity heavy businesses) to take the initiative and start using alternatives. I have said numerous times (albeit on the MyBB forum) that his could be a catalyst for the growth of the solar/*whatever tech here* power industry. Sure it might be as expensive to install now as it was buying a PS3 on launch, but if enough people buy... price reductions should come in a three-five years. Voting online for something like this is a waste of time. Vote with your wallet and become less reliant on Eskom. That will hurt them the most.
 
I honestly have no problem signing any petition, if I agree with it. And yes, I do agree that I don't want the prices of electricity to go up... UHHH - I don't want the prices on ANYTHING to go up? Who does? Should we start petitions to ban price hikes on everything?

I can't imagine a company like Eskom caring how many signatures are on there. If they cared what their consumers thought, perhaps they wouldn't be putting their prices up.

They need to justify the 10's of billions of Rands+ they are spending on their new power stations. And no amount of signatures is going to stop them from getting their money. We as consumers have no choice in the matter of Eskom's pricing structure.
 
Well, that's what NERSA is supposed to be for. I think targetting NERSA is more important than ESKOM, considering the former grants the latter the increases :)

We already have people in the country that know what they are doing, its peoples attitudes that are the problem.

The more people that sit on their arse and complain, the better for me cos that will make reaching the top a walk in the park.
