Meh, $6,000,000 over two years is a lot but I don't think that it'll fund a hell of a lot for an entire country. Then again it sounds like $250,000 a month which, for video games, is ridiculous.
Hmm.. with all those jobless people out there perhaps South Africa should start training people to play world of warcraft..
Im sure we could do with $3 000 000 coming into the country every year.
On the other hand , I wish someone would go bust a cap in north korea's ass.
Its one thing to buy food with money , its another thing if youre torturing people ,
Selling virtual goods for real money isnt "bad" , if people are stupid enough to pay real money for powerups on a toon , its your loss and I would be more than happy to take your money.
I have a problem with people who are generally evil . so im not throwing out the baby with the bathwater here.
I wish USA would send a sniper team to North Korea and go shoot the crap out of that guy.
Ive said it , evil people who torture and kill the innocent need to die.
Yeah I just don't see the USA bringing order into any country cleanly and humanitarian...ly...
That's kind of off topic though. The fact that they can make that much money off of shitty MMOs I've never heard of is pretty impressive. They should make a university course on it.
I do think that what can be drawn from this is a pretty interesting analogy. World of Warcraft gold (or money in any MMO) is actually really similar to the real world economy, since only a tiny percentage of a countries 'money' is real -- the rest is literally World of Warcraft gold -- only valuable because people think it's valuable.
