Nvidia 3D Vision Poll - This is actually important

I just feel sort of sad because a whole bunch of PC gamers in this country are missing out on something spectacular and it's like they're either not even aware of it, or worse, they simply don't care. No wonder gaming is moving to consoles. PC gamers are a bit of a slacker crowd by the looks of things.
Make the poll less specific, like 3D capable monitors, the different 3D glasses, ie. 3D gaming hardware =)
I wouldn't specifically buy the 3D vision kit, as I don't have a NVidia card at the moment, but since I ordered some 3D kit from overseas, it would be a definite yes for 3D hardware.

3D is a huge waste of money IMO. You have to have a special screen which can handle 120hz and expensive glasses. Never mind the fact that you need to have a pc that can run double the FPS that you actually want to view it at. Also if you go for the cheap option you game looks like crap...
I think it would be unwise to call it a "waste of money". The thing, the technology is rather special. It's like saying that console gaming is a waste of money because you need to pay for the console, controllers, games and then an expensive flatpanel TV to make it worth while. When it comes to technology of any kind lately, it's not clever to bring "price" in as a valid argument.
But, whilst 3D won't be for everyone, I seriously recommend that you try it when you can first before making up your mind.

It is too expensive. It seems a waste. Why is bringing price into this not clever? Price has to be brought in, otherwise it does not always make sense. People buy kit according to what they are able to spend. If someone cannot afford it, then its a simple decision for them.

Well by those arguments you should also state that upgrading to an i7 CPU when you already have a dual core CPU is utter nonsense, or upgrading your graphics card to a GTX480 is ludicrous because you already have a 8800GT.
I may be totally wrong about this, but 3D gaming is going to be pushed HARD from this year on. Sooner or later you're going to see a lot of people buying this kit.
What some of you guys don't realize is that a lot of people who are hardcore PC gamers won't mind spending R7000 on upgrading a few pieces of hardware. PC gamers are much more willing to spend money on their rigs. Unlike console gamers who'll never understand why.
So honestly. R7000 is NOT a lot of money for this stuff. A single GTX480 costs almost the same, and the latest Intel CPU clocks in at over R10,000 - JUST FOR THE CPU.
If you're then going to say that consoles don't cost that much, then you're probably gaming on a tiny 32" LCD and you're not getting the full experience of that platform either.

This kind of technology has never been designed to be adopted by "people". That's why you still get cavemen and cave-women who refuse to learn how to use a computer. This technology is for enthusiasts, rather than people, who actually understand and appreciate the technology, and enthusiasts have never been shy to spend money on their PC's.

I'm not really concerned about it. The amount of money one needs to spend just for some 3D effects is not worth it atm. Think about it, you will need a very fast GPU, a fast CPU to feed that GPU, a 3d compliant screen and you still need to fork out for the glasses. I can't think of much bigger wastes of money. Eventually technology will catch up and it won't be in the niche price bracket anymore. Perhaps then I'd consider it.

too many peripherals is a burden imo ... however when the technology gets to a stage (which will be soon) when 3D glasses are not required and LCD handles everything then maybe i would go for it ... but right now at the moment nope and a major factor is probably price since im not a hardcore gamer ...
