Official Call of Duty: Black Ops PC multiplayer thread

Well the patch hasn't helped my multiplayer performance at all. Even setting my resolution to 800x600 makes little difference. The single player runs like butter though. It looks like the game only uses two cores and is maxing them out completely. Haven't they added quad core support?
 
Okay so verifying the game cache determined that my game wasn't patched properly and re-downloaded it. It kept doing that until I restarted my PC and now it looks like its patched properly. The framerate still isn't ideal in some places but it does appear to have improved.

Scratch that, after verifying again it's downloading the patch again... :(
 
Im getting lag again.
Seems the patch only lasted a few matches for me, when i played again game started lagging
 
sigh tried it but yeah lag is everywhere pings are all over the place one guy had 10 then shot up to 400 and so on. Same here had 120 then up and down all the time lowest I got was 80.

The whole place looked more like portal than anything else everybody seems to teleport and not run to places.
 
smooth experience for me, but on mweb - cpt servers. there was the odd little huck, but mostly smooth play.
I must say that the shop front awards can possibly get a tad addictive. Must customize!!
Also the maps are spectacular. Now the only thing missing is need to add in a female soldier character :p
 
I waited for the patch before I attempted MP. I had a quick bash at it last night, so far so good. Maps look decent, general gameplay is decent. I am getting superb pings from my WebAfrica account to CT based servers. I have also seen noticeable changes in FPS, but that may just be SP related, and I won't go into any detail there considering this is an MP related thread.

yeah it yes.

But its not as bad as last night omg wanted to do something to someone! But its a lot of fun when there is no lag.

Now only got a problem where it just don't want to save my class settings.

You guys will see me mostly on the DzG gaming server nick techthief.
 
Well looks like servers are down atm. Not the dedis but Treyarchs login servers. I was wondering why I couldn't join a single game earlier. Hopefully it's not going to be offline too long, I need to rank up after finishing the SP campaign. :D
 
Any ideas yet on the SP FPS lag yet? BO is chowing more than half my fcking CPU.

MP is just dodgy - plain and simple. I don't get it, played on a server with Kiruna last night, says she was fine :/

My single player FPS is perfect so not sure why yours is so bad. The patch looks like it finally worked though, MP is a lot better and theater mode works now.

I was wondering WTF I just installed and couldnt join a single game

BTW is there a way to match the FOV that was in MW2 I kinda got used to that .
 
fok geen mp game van 2uur nie die lag was nuts sodra ek iemand skiet is dit soos fok you nou gaan ek you laat lag.
 
yeah dude I was pissed off there. Since I am trying to give this game a change but so far more frustrated than anything else really.
 
Well still cant see a single damn server this morning. I think it's fair to say I'm getting really bloody annoyed now. I haven't been able to play all fucking weekend. I'm saving up for a console now, I've had enough of these issues with PC gaming. :mad:

Edit: Finally found a fix. There seems to be a bug in the server browser filter. Just hit reset and the list will populate again. :/

is it not cause I'm in cpt - get better ping?
well on that particular server.

played a bit on sat morning as well and also had no probs on various other servers though, one or two hucks but nothing major.
