Raids are 6 Players and you need to be at least Light 26 to do VoG and 30 to do Crota. The Vanguard strikes/playlist is 3 man fireteam events.
This week Bungie released some end of the year numbers for Destiny. For a game that the company has invested so much time and money into, to hear them tell it it certainly sounds like it's been a successful launch.
Bungie says that across all platforms nearly 13 million players have played Destiny, creating a total of 22.9 million guardians. The in-game time spent is closing in on 875 million hours.
That's 99,523 years.
The post goes on to list a few other bullet-pointed tidbits.
In the span of time you have spent playing Destiny, the Curiosity Rover could have made the voyage to Mars more than one hundred thousand times
If the Guardians populating Destiny occupied a single city, it would be as large as New York City and Los Angeles, combined
Atheon has been shattered 2.4 Million times
At least a dozen of those kills were without cheese
Crota has been Ended 769 times, and rapidly counting
But only once by a Fireteam of one (step it up, everyone else)
"Staggering statistics aside," the post reads, "Destiny is more than a game of numbers. it's a world made of people... It's the human stories that lodge in our void-stained memories."
Finally, the team teased some "stocking stuffers" that will be added to player's inventories "sometime after the Holidays have come and gone."
I would but I have a mobile connection and it chows data like a pig.I really miss it.Activision should have paid for servers. So there's been months since I've played this and thinking of getting back into it now that a lot more of the DLC is out. Anyone else with me?

A few of us still play almost daily. We do Raids, Nightfalls and other activities. Went raiding this weekend, did not get anything good but got some stuff at least. Just keeping busy until the Taken King comes out in September.
Crucible is not is not so bad if you get a good lobby, but there are some horribly laggy guys running around making the crucible almost unplayable sometimes.
There is a Destiny South Africa group on Facebook that is quite active and you could check out www.planetdestiny.com for their LFG app. Easy to get groups with that for all the activities.

Lemme know when you do some Strikes or Raids![]()
So i am new to this destiny shit. Am i correct in understanding that you onlt gain light levels by getting gear that has the light attribute? In other words experience only counts towards you weapons and classes and then light is the only thing that affects anything past level 20. So lets say you have a 15 light helmet, and you are half way through level 21, do you need say light boots to push that level up to 22?
That is correct, yes. A soft level (or character) cap is at 20. I think the hard cap is currently 34 or 35 iirc. I just managed to get to level 30 this weekend, all because of my gear.
Was actually pondering Destiny over the weekend. Yes, the game is boring as fuck (at the story is) but the game only really opens up after level 20. I've played three times the amount this past week than I had when I first bought it.
I am liking the post game. I am 21 now, havent even finished the story yet. Tried a weekly strike on my own and got ripped at the final boss fight. The grinding is not that bad. I thought i would hate it, but i kind of dig it. The bounties make it interesting. I just need to start with the crucible shit but i suck so much. So im just ignoring it.
Starting to get into crucible a lot more but more of the team based games. ie Control.
I wanna do a lot more of the Daily and Weekly events to gain my Vanguard Marks, also look at doing the public events. Get your headset sorted out and gimme a shout (or message)
Also trying to level my second character...
Get yourself the Public Events App to time when and where they are, this will help to get Vanguard Marks.
