Official Destiny Thread

I'm still getting the odd disconnects or sating I been removed from the world. Anyone else getting this?

This happened to me today for the first time :(. Think the servers might be taking strain.

Unless it's related to upload speeds of ADSL, 512kbps whereas my mate on mobile data is able to upload at those same speeds, he has not had these issues.

How's peoples experiences in the Cruicuble?
I really suck, and the only points I tend to get are from capturing. I normally have a KD <0.3.

Hey man it could be your upload because I use 3g and never get dc but I did when I had net limiter on.I did the moon strike and it was hard as hell but finaly did it in the end so cool when you beat it.

Is everyone still enjoying this game? It seems to be a lot of grinding and replaying of certain parts to reach what you want and level up

But isn't that the norm with any loot collecting game?
Diablo, Borderlands, PoE, etc etcerah

It all depends on whether or not the game in question provides you with viable end-game content in which to use the gear you've just spent hours grinding for.

Diablo and Borderlands both have great end-game content so you're constantly wanting to farm for better/sexier gear sets.

I haven't jammed Destiny yet but as I understand it, Destiny has no real end-game to grind gear for?

Ooooer there is end-game content in Destiny. Once you have completed all the stories and got to level 20 there are many things left to do. The daily and weekly heroic quest/strikes. The Strike playlists, the Crucible if you are into that kind of thing. The raids are opening up one by one now with the Vault of Glass opening today. And more events planned and DLC incoming.

Can't see myself quitting too soon. I am now at max level and only now has the game begun to open up, drops are better and fights are tougher if you up the difficulty a bit. You can also go and grind or do bounties as you do strikes to level up faster. You can farm glimmer and upgrade your Cryptarch to get you some shiny exotic or legendary loot. I have played about 30+ hours probably more and I haven't even left Venus, think my story missions are on 13 or something. My next step is to practice in the Crucible to get better and get some of those Crucible marks.

I can not log on, I keep getting the centipede error. I did everything I could change nat types, open ports, reset router. Looks like Bungie needs to fix it.

So 2 of my mates have been playing the game non stop since release...they are both max level and have some pretty good gear.
Their thoughts so far is that the game's plot/story is horse shit, a lot of it makes no sense and you can poke holes through it all day long.
They both agree that the game runs out of content pretty quickly and that you generally have to hope you find decent public players for raiding if you don't have mates that own the game.

Oh and funny thing they both bought it because there was nothing else to play (Next Gen you know).

I have a feeling that this series isn't gonna be anywhere as successful as Bungie and Activision are hoping.
They released it during a time where there was nothing new, they also hyped the game into oblivion.
Also helps that Bungie was behind it considering they have a huge halo fan base that bought the game purely on the basis that Bungie made it.

Yeah, I completely hear where you coming from and what they saying. I somewhat agree as well. Like I said in my thoughts in the other thread. It doesn't excite me to rush home after work to play it. But it is a good game to play and Bungie has a good track record. I mean I haven't even played this since Sunday, but I will play it more.
The thing is with the story, it's not all handed to you from playing the game. If you want to experience more of it and delve into the lore of Destiny. Hop along to their website and read more on the grimoire cards and such. Everything is very detailed.
I come from being a huge Dark Souls fan, so this kind of "hole poking" story (as you put it), I am very used to. But I get the impression that Destiny to Halo, is like what Dark Soul 2 is to Dark Souls. The successor wasn't as big or as great, but still good none-the-less.

I'll agree the game was massively over hyped, and that the colossal Halo following would have bought it without even batting an eyelid, simply based on Bungie's success. But there's no denying, it is a very well polished game!

I really enjoy crucible the mp is hectic and I love it.I dont know why people complain about the shotgun it is useless at range.

Players need to understand that there are many paths away from the outside that they can follow and traverse, if they are scared of getting roflstomped by the vehicles. All the structures on the moon are connected to one another, you don't have to set a foot outside if you don't want to.

This game can be seriously hard at times the enemy ai is really good on harder levels I have not seen a more active ai in quite awhile.I cant stop playing reminds me of Diablo 3 in that regard .

I've been reading bad reviews on Destiny.

What are you guys experience?I don't want to spend money on a game I'll find disappointing.
