Unfortunately I did not get a chance to test the mission timer last night. Was too busy playing around with GUI disabled and taking high resolution screenshots. Perhaps tonight I will have some better luck.

Although I did discuss a lot of the new developments with friends:
The Corvette is one serious beast now in beta3.
SCBs got a decent enough buff, with a certain build you can use them to make shields very potent.
The new bi-weave shields are interesting but I don't see a lot of players using them.
The cutter has some serious firepower, it's downfall comes with agility. It's only slightly faster at turning than the Type-9. Which is bad, however it can take more cargo. So that's a fair trade off.
There's a new type of mine launcher that does more damage to shields than hull. But I have not had a chance to test this out yet.

[MENTION=4924]Wyzak[/MENTION] - I think you have the Cyborg X (FLY5) ne? I ended up formatting my machine and lost something along the way as now my ED has no assignments to it, and of course the game doesn't recognise the joystick.
Also, when going into the devices properties in Windows, the yaw axis doesn't go all the way to the right, works fine to left.

Also, when going into the devices properties in Windows, the yaw axis doesn't go all the way to the right, works fine to left.

About your fly5. I used to fly with one till a couple of months ago. Have never had issues with the game not detecting it. Not quite sure what you are having issues with either, could you elaborate? I would like to try and help out!

I know Wyzak has had exactly the same issues (if it's him I'm thinking of). The game just doesn't pick it up. Though it has a specified configuration file for it, it just sees it as a generic joystick, therefor forcing you to manually set everything. Though I think it has the standard config which doesn't utilise all the buttons.

I'll spend an hour or so setting it up. But I also don't see any place to calibrate the device in stupid Windows 10.

Drivers? I used the generic drivers from mad catz site and it worked perfectly for me. Maybe try the UK region of their site, from what I recall it had different drivers. And run the setup as administrator.

I have the fly 5 yes. From what I've seen there are multiple variants of it even though they look identical and the game only knows about one (or some) of them.

The beacon is used so that your wingmen can join you in a USS.

Wing beacons are for your team wings to easier find you. You can also use it to easily stay with your friends once you start moving about.

You can share your account with your friend without issues. As long as he/she is in South Africa. I am unsure of whether region restrictions apply. Can't imagine they do, but still your address and things get recorded on your account. So keep that in mind.

Other wise today is potentially the closed beta release for planetary landings. Has anyone seen the system specs? It's rather high. So maybe tonight or tomorrow I will upload some landing pics and such.

Have an update. It seems to me like missions still time out. Although I mostly play CG missions, so I can understand that in that specific scenario.

Unfortunately that is quite an issue for me as my gaming time is unpredictable and can be interrupted after a few minutes and then I might only get time again a week or two later.

This is why I wanted a game that I could play offline and pause and resume whenever.

I can relate to that. We're all getting older and have families to take care of now. Not a lot of time for ourselves any more.

Took apart the base and and some Q20 on the moving parts. Seems to have helped by looking at the calibration screen.

The guy who bought my flight stick also did something else to get the stick to respond better... although it involved a bit of taking it apart. I am unsure what he did though.

Yeah, sorry I didn't read the last sentence about your joystick as it clearly hinted towards a mechanical problem.

For what it's worth I contacted Madcatz after I had some issues with my joystick and they shipped me a "broken" one to salvage for parts. But I haven't been able to find anything wrong with it...

You can change the currency on Frontier's store to USD and then it is cheaper there. ALSO it is not region locked at Frontier. Unlike Steam. This new region lock has messed me around so much. I can't even gift games to international friends any more. So steam can suck it.
