Online specials: Steam, Greenman Gaming, GamersGate, etc

I seriously need to stop looking a steam, this is getting bad.

I don't know what's up with this steam sale, but it's just seems to be the same things coming up over and over again. Torchlight 2 has come up 3 times already.
One thing that is nice though that I haven't noticed before is that when one title comes on special, the other games in the series also do.

This happens every year. And I think on the last day, everything that was on sale, comes up on sale again.

i only recall that happening once in the holiday specials. if this was guaranteed it would be awesome as i wont be spending money just "because you never know when it will be at this price." I would then be able to budget better too!

I'm contemplating buying Borderlands 2.

I have played it before but never the co op online, is it worth it for that?

Do you think there will be a better special?

Probably not until the next big sale. I'd say it's worth it.

I expected more from borderlands 2. I was really hoping that they would improve the inventory system on PCs, they didn't. I also expected a single-player game (with only one player in it) to truly be a single-player game. Alas it also wasn't. Monsters respawn and the game doesn't save your actual location. It saves checkpoints. So if you have enough time to play long sessions that doesn't big you so much. But if you have little time like me it can really get to you. When I had to fight the same packs for the umpteenth time and fight the same boss again just to get past him again, it got tiring really quickly. I've shelved the game for now and I won't play it again unless we co-op it.

From what I heard it's the worst of all the fable games, I haven't played it myself.

I don't play too many RPG's- I think all the diablo clones ruined it for me. I just got tired of sorting through thousands of weapons juggling stats and the endless and mindless button mashing. A quick review on youtube seems to suggest that this is more arcade-like, with blocks and chain strikes so it's peaked my interest. - Kinda appreciating all the things everyone else was complaining about.

You should also have a look at Torchlight II, it breathed new life into the RPG genre after the D3 failure.

Is fable 3 any good? I see that's on a 75% off for the next 8 hours

I have played it a bit, it's pretty fun, although don't expect a super in depth storyline and brilliant voice acting...

That said, for a more 'casual' rpg it's pretty darn fun, although The Lost Chapter was bettter.

I played the first one and enjoyed what I played, but I didn't ever finish it for some reason. Have they done anything different with 2?

Last night I realised I have waaaaaay too much to play still. So tempted as I was I somehow manage to hold out for the full 8 hours. Now I feel like I'm missing out

All new classes, co-op, much more variety in environments, outdoor areas, etc. Definitely worth a look. It has a demo as well.

Also look at the free-to-play Path of Exile. Great game with some very unique ideas on how skills and stats work.

Thanks, I'll check that out.
Does torchlight 2 still only use one town, and an endless dungeon, or are there different lands to explore now?

That's better. I enjoy exploring outdoors areas. There is just so much more you can do with it. Rain, snow, day night cycles... Pretty village lasses...
