Loooooooool! For once i can say i was there ;) and i wasn't the pc fanboi. Yes another brilliant read by Taryn. Though i see Hypothetical PC fanboy troll's coming out of the woodwork to flame this thread, i must admit i am looking forward to it. Because if nothing else, its bloody entertaining.

Brilliant brilliant read there... I suppose in a sense you would pretty much have to have either owned one of each or played on one of each for a good amount of time before deciding that you actually have an oppinion :D

LoL - I was getting teased last night - all good natured - by a couple of guys on the 360 forum for playing Call Of Juarez on PC.
Most pc gamers these days do own either a 360,a PS3 or as I do both - mostly for the great exclusives.
I honestly belive that the days of the fanboys are pretty much over.

Like I stated in another post ....

PC's rulez! No Pew Pew console for me .... until I take delivery of my Xbox next month ... :p

But that is my opinion!! :D

I still reckon PC's are unbeatable in the FPS MMORPG & RTS realm...

Consoles (regardless of make) are the best for racing / fighting / adventure games.

It's like comparing a 4x4 to a sports car. Different uses.

I think that's still really just a personal preference, though. I grew up a PC gamer, and only bought my first console when I was in my early 20s. I'm now predominantly an Xbox gamer, and I guess I've just learned how to use a controller properly. I can honestly say I prefer the controller in FPSes to a mouse and keyboard - in fact, I play far better with a controller than I ever played with a mouse and keyboard. It's partly because, as a left-hander, I've never really found a keyboard all that much use, since I have to use cursor keys for movement, and the surrounding keys aren't really within comfortable reach for hotkeys. I also find tracking targets easier on a stick than a mouse.

But again, it's a purely personal preference, and I still play a lot of Team Fortress 2 on PC.

Another Lefty, YAY!

Single player FPS's ill play on the xbox as well as pc. Depends on the title. Stalker just wouldn't work on Consoles me thinks. RTS's i have to agree with Voicy. I bought Halo Wars and found it interesting but too limiting for wide scale appeal. MMORPG with all their billions of shortcut keys are also better suited to PC though we will see how games like The Agency for PS3 and PC use the PS3 controller for an MMO. For online FPS's i will stick to Keyboard/mouse combo as the precision needed sometimes just cant be given with a controller, not during the heated online battles. But that could just be me.

I do my gaming on a PC. I've got a gamepad for games like the Silent Hill series or Assassin's Creed. I use my mouse and keyboard for the first person shooters and strategy games.

I don't have a problem with consoles, I just find that I don't need one. On consoles I can't play many of the turnbased games that I like for instance. I am one of those people who will buy a console if it gets a game that I really really want to play and it's not available on PC. So far this hasn't happened yet, but I may change my mind with the new Silent Hill that's coming out on Wii.

All these differences that people keep stating as to why a PC is superior to a console are quickly diminishing.

PC norms are making their way over to console at a pretty rapid pace. It's not like a person can't go out and get a keyboard and mouse for consoles. All that is needed now is for the game developers to make proper use of it.

From a Pure gaming perspective a console has the upper-hand. From a Utility perspective the PC wins hands down.

Yep, the fact that I can game and do other stuff on multiple monitors gives the PC an edge in certain instances. I love my Xbox for lazy gaming on the big LCD and couch though :)

The whole drama between consoles and pcs is completely retarded. I love my pc, but my brother has a 360, my friends have Wiis and PS3s and they're all very fun to play on. I'll stick with my pc, but I won't give anyone lip for preferring console.

If you tell me that a pc sucks for gaming and console is the only way to go, I'll write a two page essay back :P

That's because the consoles are becoming more like PCs everyday :p

* Hard drives
* Networks
* Downloadable content
* "Community"
* Upgrades (new HDD anyone?)
* BSOD has been adopted as the RRD
* Install games
* Patches/Updates for games

I personally prefer the pc. I use my gamepad for sports or action games. I did look at the consoles a year ago but none of the ps3 or xbox 360 had any exclusive that made it worth the buy imho. Most of the games I wanted to play eventually get onto the pc.

Someday some bloke is going to look at his console setup - then look at his PC setup, and realise he's got two of the same thing :p

Although he'll be playing different games on each of them :D
