Anyone know of a good place to buy a toddler size bed that's not obscenely overpriced?

Saw a bed on groupon a while ago that I thought my son might like. Though we already got a bunk bed for him.

Did a check now, and could have sworn it was cheaper in the email. Anyways, seems to be sold out now.

That is pretty cool with the pull out bit, I think I would be looking for something smaller though. Thanks, I'll poke around Groupon and see if they have anything else

I have seen similar beds at Toys R Us, just without the pull out bit.

Mokki.co.za (no pricing on the site so I'll probably sit down before asking about pricing...)

Thanks Wenzdayz, could you send me his email address, and maybe website URL if he has one? I'll get hold of him and see what he's asking.

Friend of my parents is also a top-notch carpenter. He made us a masterful chopping block from wooden off-cuts and gave us a bird house that looks so pretty and perfect that we feel to sorry to put it up outside. He also made all my parents' scullery cupboards (and they look better than the ones Easy Life Kitchens did), dressing tables (with hidden cabinets in the ottomans and LED lighting around the mirrors) and bathroom cabinets. Oh, and then he also made then a 12 seater dining set for their patio and a stable-gate for their front porch. He also makes bespoke high-end audio enclosures for B&W and similar speakers. This guy is an absolute perfectionist and a master in his craft.

Unfortunately guy I'm talking about is based in Darling, Western Cape, so you'll end up paying a fortune in shipping costs.

I must say, 5 hours of sleep really kicks ass when you only got like 2 hours of sleep the previous night :3

Luckily I'm off this week, but I foresee low productivity at work next week. Will someone be my coffee fairy, perhaps inject coffee directly into my jugular?

hehehe... it get's mildly better dewd. You will look back on these nights and smile, as much as you hate them at the time.

I'm having a difficult time at the moment...

So my boy woke up at 4:30 this morning and when I walked into his room to check on him he looked up at me and said "Dada", smiled and raised his arms to be picked up. Clever little chop.

It gets better the older they get, at some stage they start sleeping through the night. There will still be occasional bad nights but for the most part, it gets much better. They still wake up really early so you don't get to sleep in anymore but at least you don't have to wake up every couple of hours.

Kid sick again?

Awesome moments those. Hard to resist the cuteness when you know they need to be calm and go back to sleep though.

Shame, my little boy is having a hard time adjusting to going to nursery school, he cries when we drop him off and pick him up, it's really heart breaking. Doesn't help that another kid bit him the other day either, but we've talked to the teachers, and they say they've talked to his parents and he's teething so he's biting, so they have Teejel and are keeping an eye on him now so hopefully it doesn't happen again.

I guess it'll take a while to adjust from always being around his family to spending the day at school every day. Very hard though. And he slept badly last night so we are all feeling exhausted.

In other news, I have my first parent-teacher evening tomorrow.

I am a dad of an amazing 2.5 year old girl. She can be the sweetest little angel, but sometimes this is what it feels like in our home:

EDIT: This pic is from about a year or so ago.

That's a pretty cool idea for a pictcha.

I have a neighbor who I occasionally hear the dad shouting (presumably at his son), and I wonder sometimes. Is that how I sound at times?!

Cos I feel bad for the kid when I hear that from over the fence, but then I wonder what they must think if (or when) they hear me.
