I was watching content by a Youtuber called Aarava. He specializes in Formula 1 content, and play a range of Formula 1 games, including F1 2016 and Motorsport Manager. Both of these games I own, but I realized that I have probably watched more hours of his content than actually playing the games myself. I'm in the position right now that I don't really feel the need of playing these games, as I've consumed the content enough by watching it
With services like Youtube Gaming and Twitch Streaming, millions of gamers spent hours upon hours watching other peopl play games. Many of these viewers, like me, spending more hours watching the game than actually playing it.
Another example I found is Kerbal Space Program. I love the game so much, but I haven't played it in a while. In fact I think the last time I properly sat down and played the game was over 3 months ago. Yet, every week I still watch Scott Manley's KSP videos, I still consume the content created by the KSP sub-reddit.
Is it just me, or are there other people that also find themselves watching some games more than actually playing them? Which games fall in this category for you?
