When the PS3 came out it was $599 so no today's pricing is not in-line with what it was back then.

I'm pretty sure its their import laws and taxes.It's ridiculous! It doesn't make sense why Brazil would pay that much. Is the R$ (Brazil Dollar) that weak? I think not.
