Playstation Plus Thread

I did download Bioshock Infinite last night. Wishing I'd have gotten Metro first actually... I already have Bioshock on steam, and will be playing the DLC when my new video card arrives....

I'm still working through Last of Us though... Ugh, backlog!

I bought Bioshock in December on a special luckily. I've always wanted to play Metro so super stoked that it is available now.

I am a bit apprehensive in buying games now with PS+ giving such great titles to us. I bought Farcry 3 in middle of last year and we got that one free as well.

Ya im gona need a holiday to get on top of everything i still need to play...

Yeah I know the feeling, I'm considering taking 2 weeks off shortly. Specifically when Dark Souls 2 comes along just to get through some of it.

So I switched on my PS3 Saturday morning to check the download progress of Metro: Last Light..
Just to find that all my games was deleted :(

Everything was gone Downloaded games, Game data, Music, Picture, Movies, Themes.
Only user profiles was remained.

That sounds suspiciously like a format. Never done it myself, but if I remember right, there is an option in the settings menu to format the hard drive of all data, just leaving the user profiles.

Oh that sucks, I hope it didn't delete your saves, or that you have at least been making use of the cloud backup service for them.

I've never heard of something like that happening

I didn't know that. Do you know if a software fault can cause that? Because if it did erase all of that data, it sounds like a manual action to me...

Will check on my PS3 to make sure, and yeah, sounds like a manual action to me as well. Why would just the profile data be left over. *Watch this space*

Edit : Checked on the PS3, and there are 3 options.

1. Format HDD
2. Restore Default Settings
3. Restore PS3

Of the three it sounds like option # 1 happened to you. I just don't want to test it on my system.

It sounds like a system restore if I remember correctly, but that's definitely something you do manually, I can't think it would do it by itself

On a side note to this, I saw a whole bunch of items appearing on my "game list" on the XMB that says "Corrupted Data". Everything else on the console is fine and none of the games have faulty downloads, they all work well. Any idea what this is and what caused it?

The Corrupted Data thing usally happend when I installing game corrupted installation file.
I made use of the online save feature so luckally I dont have to restart everything.
Gonna take for ever to get games back. Since the Telkom upgrade. Game downloads are dead most of the time :(

Oh I've gotten that quite a few times. If you download a game but the file is corrupted, it tries to install but fails and leaves the corrupted install on the list. You'll need to delete whatever installer isn't installing properly and download it again, and delete all the corrupted items as well.

I have my ps3 set to auto update, so it automatically installs anything that has finished downloading each morning, but you can test it manually by trying to install the game from the installer (icon in the bubble in the games list) and it should break after a while and leave another corrupted data icon.

I'll have a look at what might be causing that...because they take up space and it is a mission to delete that stuff one-by-one.

If you have auto-updates on, you should find that there is one extra corrupted data each day, and one installer that just stays there and doesn't get installed, that'll be your problem.
