There's very bad news in store for home theater enthusiasts, though. Sony says you'll be unable to use the PS4 as a client for your media server. The next-gen console is shipping without DLNA support, a significant step backwards for a device that's likely to be a living room centerpiece for many. Even more unfortunate, the PS4 can't play MP3 files, suggesting that Sony wants users to turn to its own store and third-party apps for all media needs. And your CD collection? Useless. Sony has decided that now's the time to end support for audio CD playback.

Someone just pointed this out on MyBB...
Really? :wtf:
Well, that's that sorted for me.
1) Sony doesn't support region migration and I'm not prepared to throw away my PSN account and the games bought on it.
2) The PSN network is incredibly slow--1.5GB can take an hour to download on a 500Mbps line whereas on 360 or PC, it's done in under a minute.
3) Not able to be used as a media centre?
Basically 95% of what I use my PS3 for is Netflix and streaming video from my PC. It's the only reason I'd even bother owning a console, to be perfectly honest.
The 5% is made up for exclusive titles such as Quantic Dream's games and the odd JRPG.
Sorry, PS4, but it seems the XBone has you beaten there.
I'm becoming increasingly fed up with Sony and their stupid policies, DRM and draconian mentality.
