I don't see the problem here either.
First, I paid R5500 for my PS3 at launch. Taking into account inflation and hardware advancement, R6300 is actually quite reasonable.
Second, there are PC video cards that cost this kind of money, and they get replaced more often. But, by my maths, my PS3 has provided me with a gaming system for less than R70 a month.
I say suck it up, whip out the credit card, and be thankful you're not mortgaging your house to buy an Xbox One.
