rAge 2012 - views from the crowd

rAge 2012 - what did you think?

The gamers speak about their experiences of the country's biggest gaming show

As a first time attendee from the boondocks, almost entirely mindblowing. :)

My biggest issue was finding my way around. [Small town thing? :p] I would have liked to have met more MyGaming forum members [organised a meet with people from another online community, so I h\guess I should have done the same for MyGaming.]

Would be great if I could attend GameX next year too. Oh, and rAge 2013. Just need to convince someone that
a) I have a soul
b) It is worth loads of cash

:)

Cost of transport and accommodation.....

Overall I was disappointed with rAge 2012. The place was swamped with people and getting close to the displays, shops and tills was manic. I cannot see how it can be held at the dome in 2013, as it was already way too congested for any kind of pleasure.

I am disappointed with the organisation at the entrance. One point of entry only? Surely that was a bad idea?

I ended up leaving early without really getting around.

There also was not as much hardware on display or for sale as previously.

I only got a good look at Tomb Raider and Far Cry 3. Would consider getting them.

Tired of NAG just flying RAGE as â„¢ without any real RAGE becoming a name with lacking substance.

What else could RAGE have offered me that I could not have gotten from a day at Menlyn just on/after pay day?

Here is what I suggest: How about doing an actual interview with NAGâ„¢ about this?

ps. Shall we take out the white robes for the RageMessiahs? Sure they will be here to tell me about the sunrays ;)

Please explain what ou mean by your first sentence. You tell us: what does Menlyn have in common with rAge?Talks and demonstrations by computer training colleges? The opportunity to meet game developers?Being able to test drive upcoming hardware and software?ps. Sure you are smart enough without aim-assist to workout the meaning... as for the rest:

as TJ said

Now now don't be like that you can talk to... erm developers. Gosh I'm a developer , want to talk to me ? :p

Or you could talk to yourself about your hardware and stuff :D

So surely someone new someone fresh cold organise something a lot more exciting? Something more fresh? Something larger? Or is it all about the name?

Ideas:

*Get more retailers involved.
*Get as much of the Below Zero guys to do some LN2 overclocking, as in a whole section just dedicated to overclocking and overclocking hardware, maybe have a "become a overclocker for a hour" section where users pay a small fee to do some ln2 overclocking and learn something instead of just walking around all day while wasting time.
*A section dedicated to all the coolest new hardware that you can actually buy from the new/more retailers.
Nothing I hate more than seeing awesome goodies and not being able to buy them (A common feature of Rage)
*A competition for the best in show custom pc/s, modded pc comp.
*More freebies that are actually worth something (the current goody bag is dreadful..about as creative as a donkey's ass)
*huge cosplay event and comp.
*Get AWX back to the show (they draw in a lot of people and actually have awesome legit goodies unlike other anime store(You know who you are)..)
*Get much larger venue.
*More entrances and exits.
*Working ATM's and cash points.
*Ample parking.
*Better queuing system.

And most of all *Make it a festival of gaming and not a boring dreary same shit different year event.

Run a comp to get more ideas if the guys organizing it are a bit dull and boring.

I am an idiot and I came up with that in 5 Minutes.

Why not by MyGaming? Surely this must be something they've thought about doing? :o
