Raspberry Pi

I really want a few of these to set up and hopefully control most things in my house with them. I will be ordering one soon so i can use XBMC and PSM, two applications i use on a day to day basis streaming media to my various devices. Also interested to see if i can get Airplay to stream to/from the Pi to/from my MBP. I watch far too many series and not much normal TV so could make life really fun.

Also teaming XBMC up with a remote like Yaste will mean i can control my entire entertainment system with my phone :-D

I ordered my Pi (+ powersupply and case) through RS Components on December 17 and got it on Jan 20th.
For those people wondering about remotes, XBMC supports CEC. This means you can use your TV remote (if your TV supports it) if you connect via HDMI, no IR eyes or extra remotes needed. Samsung TVs call it AnyNet+, iirc.

Also, if you haven't checked it out yet, there's a distro for the pi that boots straight into Mame for arcade machine emulation.
You can grab it here Pimame. Now go build an arcade cabinet to go with it :)

Haven't tried Pimame yet, how does it perform?

Get it to build me a pinball table and THEN I'll be impressed ;)

This thing is just as awesome, by the way: LuminAR. It screws into a light bulb socket and projects a screen onto any flat surface, that doubles as a touch/AR interface. Right now I have a vision of a wall calendar that you can sync to outlook, etc but just like with the Pi the possibilities are endless - especially for rural poor who can't buy a PC and a screen and a mouse and a keyboard and a...

To be honest, I haven't tried that many roms yet (too busy playing with Raspbmc), but those I have tried worked fine. I have read somewhere that roms from the 90s doesn't always work 100%, but I have not yet confirmed this.

Now that's cool. But can it play... nevermind :)

Just a headsup, i ordered 2 Raspberry Pis from Electrocomp (http://eexpress.co.za/) on Wednesday (6th Feb) and they actually tried to deliver to my house just now (Friday). So yea, 2 days , very surprising. Costs R450 for the Model B (shipping and all inclusive).

Direct Link to item : http://eexpress.co.za/index.php?p=search&searchid=2191863

Their site only have a search bar, so it can be a little confusing, but the stuff is there.
