The Skull Mantra - Eliot Pattison
9.1/10

I enjoyed it a lot. Great novel set in Tibet and I was glad to see that it's the first in a series, so I'm ordering the next book today.

I read quite alot in the last 3 weeks, since I can't play WoW...

1 - The Restaurant at the End of the Universe - Damn hilarious! 8/10

2 - No Highway - Written in 1948, this is about airplanes and a study relating to fatigue fractures that they might encounter. Quite a good read if you can stomach the old english - 5/10

3 - Digital Fortress by Dan Brown - A book that keeps you reading all the time! Definitely recommended - 9/10

4 - The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown - It is scary to come across certain references from different authors concerning stuff like this. Much better than the movie. - 8/10

At the moment I'm reading Angels and Demons, also by Dan Brown. So far it looks to be a good book. I love the fact that Brown does extensive research on the subject that he is writing about. I will let you know what I think of it.

He makes most of it up.

If you want to read something with real historical backup, Try Umberto Eco instead.

Waiting Period by Hubert Selby Jr. 9/10

Brilliant book by a brilliant author, a bit confusing at times, Selby's writing style can only be described as unique. Currently busy with Requiem for a Dream, also by Selby.

I can imagine that he makes most of it up, he is a fiction writer. But alot of the things that he writes about can be found in other independent authors' work. And not just the fictional authors.

Angels and Demos was a nice movie...but not my type of reading so I don't think I'll touch the book.

Anyone here ever read House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski? The craziest, weirdest, psycho book I have read in my life. It took me more than a year to finish it because it was so damn confusing, but a very, very good read.

What books you reading now? How is it?

Im reading two at the moment
1) Spud : John van de Ruit (I havent read it)
2) Thomas Fukiyama : The End of History (political read about the end of the cold war and a new era etc)

I've only ever read one book that wasn't prescribed for school. :(

But I'm wanting to get a Good Sci-Fi novel, any sugestions?

American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis
Bombroof - Michael Robotham
Requiem for a Dream - Hubert Selby Jr. (Speaking of which, anyone here ever read anything by Selby?)

Stephen King - The Dark Tower (book 7) - Amazing Sci-fi/Fantasy series
The angels game - CArlos RUiz Zafon (Read shadow of the Wind first...also seriously good)
The wheel of time series (starting at book 1 and reading them all again)

I'm reading Mission Earth at the moment and it is really awesome! Its a dekalogy but in the last month I've finished 3 volumes. I just can't put it down. Its that good. So for a good satire sci-fi, that's a great choice!
