WANTED: Weapons of Fate 7/10. A very cool game, just way too short and it starts to get repetetive very quickly. You basically do the same thing for four hours and then the game is done, but I did at least enjoy it a lot.

Emperor: Battle for dune. 70%

It's a solid game, one of the last ones to still run the original C&C gameplay format, which imediatly makes it good. But the unit vareity and other aspects are a bit of a let down, but it's very well balanced in that not a single unit can effectively win a match unless you have and impractical number of them. The maps are a nice challenging layout, all of them. But the AI is really disapointing. I do like the unit profiles, I'de like to see more of those in RTS games sometimes. And there are those Roach-God fsking ass sandworms!

Story line. Quite true to the univerce set in the books and a good alternate course of event, for that it get top mark

Battlefield Bad Company 2 - 80%
quick pro's vs cons
Pro's
BF styled MP hawtness
Persistent rank/unlock/achievement system
Destructable terrain
Sounds are absolutely beautiful

Cons
Console port
Requires a monster PC to run on high
Poor hit-reg
Bugs and CTD's aplenty

Command and Conquer 3 - Tiberian Wars - 95%

Pros - Challenging, Great Campaign, Diverse Missions

Cons - Nothing really

The server browser never had PING displays. They needed to add it.
The negative mouse acceleration.
Various input devices not working correctly @ launch (mouse buttons, joysticks).
Display driver issues aplenty.

Don't get me wrong, its a great game and I LOVE IT.
But most developers have got the attitude of "console games = more revenue", so a lot of games are ported these days. Funny though that PC BC2 sales outsold the combined total of PS3 and XBOX360 :D

I don't wanna derail this topic, but had to explain a bit. Feel free to PM me if you wish to continue discussing this :)

Ok, this is the 1st game i played on my XBox 360, so here goes...

Batman Arkham Asylum...
85/100
EDIT... 88.76/100 (it's better than i make it out to be below)

The Best stuff:
1. The "feel"... very authentic to the essence of who we want Batman to be.
2. The Joker - Mark Hamill has GOT to be the ULTIMATE Joker! And the writers got it BANG on. Brilliant. I'm talking Heath Ledger brilliant.
3. Gameplay is fantastic for a newbie like myself (who has never owned a console before) ... controls are easy to learn and use, yet very able to do alot of stuff.
4. The game looks AMAZING. 10/10 for graphics.
5. Riddler's challenges (...cryptic enough to keep you interested, but 'solvable' enough to keep you interested)
6. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are HHHHHOT! (in a twisted, perverse sorta way)

The reason it didint score higher (and this is me being REALLY overcritical, so take it with a pinch of salt, and then another pinch of salt):
1. It's a taaaaaaaaaaad bit short and a taaaaaaaaaaad bit too easy.
2. Like the IGN review said... it's too easy to fall into the trap of using Detective Mode for just about the whole game. I had to regularly remind myself not to do that, and then still found myself doing it anyway.
3. Ok so the entire game is all about you being clever and figuring out what's happening. Using your brain... and some quick fingers. But the 'boss' sequences are more about controller ability than brains. Figure out the one move you need to do, and it's repetition until the boss is defeated. Kinda anti-climactic. Dont get me wrong... some of them are DAMN hard to beat. But it'll only be down to your less-than-quick fingers.

Ok, that grew to be a bigger rant than i expected. Dont let me 'fool' you too much... It's a great game. Really is.

Apologies for the double post, but I've started Assassin's Creed II (and it deserves it's own post, IMHO)
so this will be quick...
So far:
92/100
Good stuff : look great, plays great, story building very nicely (even though i didint play AC1), cool side quests.
less than good stuff: oversimplified combat (but again, i'm being a bit of a knob here... it's not that bad at all)

Aliens vs Predator - hmmm ... not fond of rating things really, but 6/10 will do I suppose.

Not a bad game, but it doesn't live up to the standards of its predecessors. Tension and music is there, but it feels sluggish, even with mouse sensitivity set to max. Made it terribly hard to hit the fast moving Aliens, and the Predator wasn't easy to hit either.

Uses a similar system with respect to health as Far Cry 2 - not my favourite. Can't really say why it bugs me so much, but it does.

Over abundance of ammo has been remarked on in other FPSs - AvP goes the other direction and gives rare drops - almost too little, and half the time I was trying to fend off hordes of Aliens with my fists and my pistol.

Predator campaign was almost boring, especially later on when I had access to the spear. Over the top energy usage on the plasma caster - no energy usage for the cloak - made things a little too easy.

Not a bad game, but it did have some shortcomings.

God of War III....9.99999999999987654321/10 . Fun, awesome...ending just felt totally uninspired and the game felt cut short....but, I will replay it on higher difficulty....

ok, so i finsihed the main plot of Assassin's Creed on Saturday.
93/100!

The good stuff:
1. Fantastic plot. Great progression. Great end. 12 out of 10. I didint play the 1st one, but it made no real difference (... i read the wikipedia article)
2. Very enjoyable puzzles/challenges to solve/overcome
3. Side quests are diverse and very entertaining, and give the game a really good 'width' (...for lack of a better word) to it.
4. Graphics: Really really good. The look/feel doesn't steal the show, but give you nothing you could possibly complain about.
5. Great game setting (linked to point 1 and 4 above, and 5 below)
6. Leonardo! Nice one!
7. Ambient music is catchy.

Why it didn't get 100 (...as in my previous review, i'm gonna be overcritical, cos people pay serious money for these games and should be getting their full worth)
1. Money is too easy to come by, and not really something you need too much. If the developers could've made money to be more of a challenge to earn, and then required you to use it more, it would've just made it a BIT more immersive.
2. Asassination Quests aren't rewarding enough (...maybe they should put some special weapon or armour as a reward for completing the Assassinations or, if they heeded my call in point 1 above, they would've given me more reason to want to earn the money from the assasinations)
3. Villa management is a very nice idea, but way too easy. And it just creates bucketloads of money. Hmmm... starting to see the pattern here?

Overall, it's a fantastic game...
Great story.
Game has depth and width.
It's fun, and keeps you hooked.
and when you finish it you'll be very glad with the end, and you'll be foaming at the mouth in anticipation for the 3rd game in the series.

Finally got around to playing Mirror's Edge and just finished it. Awesome game, something completely different. Although it can be frustrating as shit sometimes, I really enjoyed the game and found it very rewarding. Definitely a must play, even if you don't get around to finishing it you have to at least try it out. The only thing that bothered me is how short it was and how it seems like the developers used the trial-and-error approach to gameplay to try and stretch it out a bit. 9/10

Rainbow Six: Vegas - 85%

Wonderful game, leaves very little to be desired and I love the cover system, it's just a pleasant twist.

Only issues I have is that you can't puckup grenades from dead enimies and the two retards you have for team mates. Also I'de have liked to see a few more checkpoints, they weren't nearly often enough to be usefull in anyway. Really, what happend to the good old F5 button these days?

Call of Juarez:bound in blood

8/10

I really love that game may be a little old but great graphics and good story :)
(consentration mode is also nice)

Splinter Cell Conviction
9/10
The series took a major turn in the normal spy/stealth game and just made it pure action/adventure. I thought that the story was great and that the 4 years of waiting had finally paid off. A definite must play!

Splinter Cell Conviction
Excellent game. great gameplay, great storyline and I love that it has more action. Seriously if your planning on buying a game in the same genre then i recommend this.
9/10

BrÜtal Legend - 80/100.

Though i would only recommend it if you are a metal fan imho. i liked the whole manner of which it was presented and how it was all put together. it really pulled me in and i had hours of fun with it :) Lol, well battle of the bands has a whole new meaning after this game. you literally do battle with your metal against the opposing faction- bit chaotic, but great fun.

One side note, there are some things in the game which are not spoon fed and you have to workout what triggers or what do you have to do to accomplish something. guess this might put a few souls of who don't like to stand around trying different things out to get the desired effect.

I would recommend you watch some of the dev movies too, it's nice to see how they used the metal elements to created the whole world and play around it. To those who say zomg it's too much of every thing to little of something, well just play the game a bit more than 2 hours and piece together the concepts.

You can't kill the metal
Metal will live on
Punk Rock tried to kill the metal
But they failed as they were smite to the ground

New Wave tried to kill the metal
But they failed as they were stricken down to the ground
Grunge tried to kill the metal
They failed as they were thrown to the ground

No one can destroy the metal
The metal will strike you down with a vicious blow
We are the vanquished foes of the metal
We tried to win for why, we do not know

New Wave tried to destroy the metal
But the metal had its way
Grunge, then tried to dethrone the metal
But metal was in the way

Punk Rock tried to destroy the metal
But metal was much too strong
Techno tried to defile the metal
But Techno was proven wrong

Metal, it come from Hell
