I finished 2 games this holiday, Spec Ops: The Line and Mafia 2

Both of the games were rather good.

Spec Ops had an interesting turn of events near the end but all and all it was a nice army shooter type game. 7/10

Mafia 2 was a very fun game, at first i thought the shooting and driving controls on the console was bad but it only took a few minutes to get use to using L2 and R2 to aim and shoot and to drive forward and reverse.
***spoiler*** The game has a rather sad ending 7.5/10

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons 9/10

So this game got a lot of praise of critics and I personally feel that it is well deserved. Yes it's short - but brilliant games often feel that way. There's a lot I could say about this game - or should I call it an experience because it is both more and less and than a game.

One of the most amazing parts of the game is its storytelling - not merely the plot (which isn't too complex) but rather the story told through the incredible environments, the colourful characters you meet on the way and the sense of companionship/friendship that underlies it all.

In short - I loved it and wish I could play it again for the first time.

Dear Esther

I like the idea of "art" games and Dear Esther really caught my attention when it was first released.

Now that I've played it I feel a bit disappointed. There's very little gameplay. In fact the only gameplay is that you walk around. Otherwise there's no interaction at all.

It's very pretty and the idea behind it is great. I just feel that they could have done more. A lot more actually. They could have made it an actual game and still have the same story.

So unfortunately I can't recommend it.

The last game i played was : To the Moon. -- 8/10

It's a very good game, it just got a bit long to the end.
I enjoyed it and it had a great/very sad story to it.
I would say you have to play it at least one in your live.

For most parts of the game you only use the mouse, but there are some parts that require you to use both the mouse and keyboard.

apologies for the bad review :)

Batman Arkham Origins

If you loved Batman Arkham City, you will definitely love Arkham Origins. And come on? It Batman!

There were a lot of similarities between Arkham City & Arkham Origins (for obvious reasons), and the game became a little repetitive, but overall it was brilliant.

Only disappointment for me was the Boss Battles. Or the Bosses. I expected a lot more. Why was the executioner even in the Assassins Roster? And it would have been cool if Deathstroke was a story long fight, not just to teach you the counter system. I found Bane to be the most frustrating of them all.

Hopefully the Dr. Freeze DLC will be good.

I'd give it a 8/10.

DmC Devil May Cry - 8/10

This game definitely took me by surprise. I was never an avid fan of the series and I never found them particularly great but I could get why some fans are pissed with the new DmC, that being said though, as a casual gamer of the series the new Dante and game in general was just awesome.

Dante could have been slightly more mature and less Nathan Drake-like, but I really did enjoy him as a character. The story was absolutely awesome, loved the story! The combat was amazing and fluid (Although I would have loved the dodge to interrupt my current attack) and the OST was bad ass.

Great game!

Vanquish.

What can I say underrated gem, the story and characters were cliche but was fun overall, the gun-play is solid and frantic but fluid, really well made, SEGA did a great job. Must play at least once.

8/10

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition

[9.0/10]

  • Really enjoyed the story line, very paradoxical take on the DC universe (like they do every time they've defeated every villain).
  • Doesn't quite play as well as Mortal Kombat, I miss finishers and Nethereal should feel bad for leaving that out.
  • The Ultimate edition holds the best DC heroes ever made and Scorpion which doesn't have a finisher is a good bonus as he plays exactly as he does in MK9.

Anyone have this on PC?

Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons.

It was a great game. Not your usual indie title and more of an experience than an game. You do have actions you have to perform and puzzle to solve but these do not get in the way of the story. It has a very emotional story and a great and satisfying end.

I was impressed with the power of the game engine and how the developer used it to give you some great visuals and at times breathtaking vistas. I enjoyed the art style and it fit the theme and setting perfectly.

The story is told without saying a single word and that served to draw me even deeper into the game's story and made me care about the characters. It was just really refreshing to play a game that didn't rely on dialogue to explain a situation but rather have the characters act out what was going on and have the player attach his/her own interpretation to a situation. You feel the game instead of the game dictating to you what you must feel... if that makes any sense... which it will once you play it. :)

It has super basic controls that can get a bit confusing at times but it is perfect for the game.

A real must play for any gamer regardless of your taste in genre.

Call of Duty Ghosts (PC): 9.5/10

Started the game off and thought the game looked terrible graphically, did some tweaking under the hood and managed to enhance it to look quite reasonable. As I continued playing the game the story grew on me and I truly enjoyed the last couple of missions and had hoped for more inside info on the "Ghosts".

Rayman: Legends (PS3): 7/10

Managed to finish it, it was quite fun but very repetitive. Kept me busy for hours.

Need for speed the run (PC) 8/10

Something different for a change, enjoyed the intro and the game as in whole. The end made me wonder if there will ever be a 2nd installment?

Didnt you feel the game was too short? I felt that they could have done more with the concept.

The last game i played was Thomas was alone. 8/10 - ps3

Rather a fun game, every character in the awesome story has his/her own back story and ability.
You have to get your characters to work together to complete each lvl and not to mention keep your eyes open for those damn collectibles :)
All in all it was a very fun game and i'm glad i played it.
