I can see that this article has some merit, but I suspect this might be aimed more at younger kids, whose brains are still developing and are thus susceptible to this. And even then, I suspect that the results would also differ on many children.
Besides, young kids shouldn't be allowed to spend much time in front of a PC/console/TV in the week in any case. They go to school where they develop their brains, after school they do sport or extra mural activities and develop their bodies. They go home and do homework and then play with mates outside. Then bath, dinner and spend time with dad/mom and then bed. Weekends they can indulge in the electronic side of things.
