RPG Nerds Lend Me Your Ears!

Got the PS3 version and I'm just over 2 hours now. Really fucking loving it, basically just doing everything I did in the demo now, but there are some areas that weren't available in the demo and I can finally build my character the way I planned it when playing the demo. Already have Faeblades and I crafted me some Chakrams as well. :D

If I can give you a tip, make sure you invest in detect hidden as soon possible. You find a lot of hidden loot and this will be very useful in maintaining enough gold to repair your equipment.

The Craft system is one I never got to in the demo, any good?

It's seems pretty decent yeah. I don't really know how it works yet to be honest, I just came across a forge and happened to have everything I needed to make the chakrams. I only have one point in blacksmithing so far so I don't know how much you can do with it yet.

Sounds good. What level you at & how is the combat panning out as you level?

Seems like a MASSIVE Ballache with the Steam version. My bro bought it and he hasn't been able to log into the EA servers at all and there is quite a large group of people on the Steam forums claiming the same.

Looks like the Steam keys don't auth on the EA servers at all to the point where if you contact EA support they actually give you an Origin copy and disable your steam copy.

Hi,

I've also contacted the EA via the "Origin Help Center Chat"

I was informed, that they could resolve the problem by disabling my steam key and giving me a key I could redeem in my Origin account:

"Ruchin: May I have your code for the game please?

you: of course, but i want to keep the game into my steam account

Ruchin: What I can do for you is that disable this key of yours and then give you a new key that you can redeem in your Origin account as then you will have online access for the game.

you: an the game in the steam account is suspended ?

Ruchin: Yes the one in the steam account will be suspended.

you: hm, will there be a solution soon that makes it possible to keep the steam version?

Ruchin: I am sorry but we do not have that information right now.

you: okay no problem then I prefer to wait a little bit longer

Ruchin: Okay."

I've had the game for 3 days and since it's been the work week I've only got about 19 hours in but I absolutely love it. Playing a lvl 17 pure sorcery build right now until I'm high enough to have enough points to span finesse high enough.

Elemental fury or whatever ou call the 50 point spell is crazy

And being the loot whore dungeon crawler that I am. Have to say I am very pleased lots o unique items and sets to collect and the story isn't bad although its a bit generic. But so was fable and I fell in love with the original will post more when I'm farther along.

And if you are looking for the first house there is a free one you can get for completing a quest chain in connerac to store your crap

LOVING IT! Have spent about 8 hours playing since last night and have just passed level 8. Playing a Rouge build with daggers as main and bow as secondary. I've only had one graphical hick up the rest has been smooth sailing. Stable framerate and hardly any noticeable bugs. Combat is epic, makes you feel really empowered. Only niggle is the camera, i dont remember it being this moody in the demo. Over all nothing to hamper an awesome game.

I've only had a few camera hic-ups and it's mainly been after defeating large opponents like trolls. ( wich I hated until I became able to freeze them in place!) I know I have said it before but I am loving this game!

I'm about 14 hours in myself now. Level 15 Battlemage with most of my points going towards sorcery, but also focusing on combat with hammers and greatswords. Love constantly switching between chakrams, heavy weapon and spells during combat. Really liking the loot system, there is a ton of unique items and sets to be found. Got the house in Canneroc and bought all the upgrades, really handy to have alchemy and sagecraft benches where I keep my loot.

Yeah, my biggest issues with the camera also came from fights with larger opponents and when the last remaining enemy is pretty far off the screen.

Playing a level 5 mage/rogue hybrid, but I'm strongly considering going pure mage. Might replace the daggers I'm using as a secondary weapon with chakrams, which are totally awesome.

Also, I don't know about anyone else, but this game sucks on keyboard + mouse. Played for five minutes before switching to my 360 controller.

You really can't go wrong with pure Mage I mean your a glass cannon but that's how it is supposed to be and chakrams are just plain awesome

Some people are saying the story is bland but honestly the side quest quality is very impressive... Well written well designed in my opinion

Yeah, I actually find the world and story to be rather interesting. Maybe because it's fresh, and not some kind of sequel. Nowadays everything is either a sequel or based on an existing franchise. :P I especially like the whole Fate and Fateweaver part of the game. Makes for some interesting lore.
