Rugby World Cup 2015

I'm with Ike on this one it's been a long time coming and tbh they don't deserve the support they are getting atm, "our hearts are in it" what a kak slogan i have to say cos there ain't shit in it atm. i hope HM wakes the f up and starts picking a team that knows how to play rugby and to start get rid of 1,2,3,9,12,15

I'll give Bismarck a chance from the bench, if he's in a good enough mood that day, but I agree with XbatousaiX, get Matfield out as well. Also, get Burger get the ball to the back line, if he wants to play half back so badly.

We had too many players who were liabilities, Saturday, and the fact that we had the same "game plan" as in our loss against Argentina is a huge issue.

Thing is i have been in two minds about the boks for the past 2 years since this whol political sham started rearing it's ugly head and i have had an allblack jersey for almost 6 years now no i don't just support the boks when they win or play good. but two shocking losses which is a new record btw for a tier 1 team against lower tiered opponents is freaking sad. my heart is broken and if we loose one more game its game over and samoa looks strong.

A lot of things wrong with the team selection and game plan, but all we can do is focus on the next game.

That loss has given all the "small" teams that underdog mentality, hopefully HM takes them all seriously from here on

Bismarck has been an issue for a while with regards to his discipline the last couple of years. i really think there are a lot of better hookers (strauss for one) who deserve to start over bismarck and who deserved to be taken to the world cup. he is always giving penalties at crucial times and is putting unnecessary pressure on our back line and kickers. i also agree with Matfield being left out. he should be there to advise the younger players, the same with J Div and Pienaar. we have a lot of young talent that need to be given a chance to prove themselves. i have to say im not the biggest pollard fan and lambie should be the no1 flyhalf(as he is in form) with pollard coming in on the 60th to 70th min.

I'm not mad Japan won,I love that country and culture.

Even though I did bet on SA winning,I was too busy playing Destiny to watch the game properly.

I still rate us as third. We barely lost to New Zealand and Australia in their respective countries. Then we underestimated Argentina only to destroy them a week later. The loss to Japan was because the players went there expecting to win easily and it's clear that for the game South Africa had no real game plan except thinking the players will just score tries because they are there.

I'm expecting South Africa to thump Samoa in the next game by a big score.

So tomorrow we shall see just how good or bad Japan really is.
If Japan manages to beat the Scots they are just about through, so I'll be cheering for them even though I've picked Scotland as one of my teams to make it to the quarters.
Of course, from a mathematical point of view, Bok supporters should be hoping for a Scottish win. That would make it easier for us to still end up top of Pool B.
Another question that we'll see partially answered after the weekend is where exactly Samoa fits in this particular food chain. Even though we haven't seen Scotland yet, I'm going to call the finish in pool B like so:

SA
Scotland
Japan
Samoa
USA

You read it here first ;)

I actually picked japan for the win after a lot of self debate. Scotland is too up and down atm and Japan will be on a high but i think when they play samoa they might get hurt cos dem south island boys are bruisers. But that one player from USA ran that poor Samoan center right into next weeks games with that hit on sat.

I see it SA, Jap, Sco Sam, USA

The Bok team announcement is today at 11:00, sounds like we can expect this team to play:

Probable Bok team:
15-Willie le Roux‚ 14-JP Pietersen‚ 13-Jean de Villiers (capt)‚ 12-Damian de Allende‚ 11-Bryan Habana‚ 10-Handre Pollard‚ 9-Fourie du Preez‚ 8-Duane Vermeulen‚ 7-Schalk Burger‚ 6-Francois Louw‚ 5-Victor Matfield‚ 4-Eben Etzebeth‚ 3-Jannie du Plessis‚ 2-Bimarck du Plessis‚ 1-Tendai Mtawarira.

I'm glad someone has faith in that line-up. I'm still uncertain.

Team was confirmed, and I'm impressed at how accurate your starting 15 were. Only one wrong here is Bismark being dropped for the game, with Adriaan Strauss starting and Schalk Brits on the bench.

The Springboks side to play Samoa was announced on Wednesday and it shows 8 changes from the side that went down to Japan:

Bokke: 15. Willie le Roux, 14. JP Pietersen, 13. Jean de Villiers (c), 12. Damian De Allende, 11. Bryan Habana, 10. Handré Pollard, 9. Fourie du Preez, 8. Duane Vermeulen, 7. Schalk Burger, 6. Francois Louw, 5. Victor Matfield, 4. Eben Etzebeth, 3. Jannie du Plessis, 2. Adriaan Strauss, 1. Tendai Mtawarira:.

Replacements: 16. Schalk Brits, 17. Trevor Nyakane, 18. Frans Malherbe, 19. Lood de Jager, 20. Siya Kolisi, 21. Ruan Pienaar, 22. Pat Lambie, 23. Jesse Kriel

It looks better than the previous team but I would replace JP with Mvovo, de Villiers with Kriel and Matfield with de Jager.

De Villiers and Matfield should not even be at the World Cup. Huge mistake to pick them in the squad. Great players but way past their best
