S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Been to the Zone Lately?

This weekend I spent 4 in-game days in Rostok just running around, surviving and having fun as it's one of my favorite maps with loads of unique things happening in it. I saw a massive battle between mercs and duty, half way through the battle a large group of dogs and snorks joined the battle. I also collected a truckload of artifacts and weapons. Found a couple of unique weapons on dead npcs.

After these 4 days my armor was completely destroyed, I's used up all my ammo and I was dragging a body behind me with the rest of my load as there were too many items for me to carry. In the end, after that adventure I'd piled together over 1.5 million rubles worth of in-game items. :D

Juice, as long as it's a unique npc, such as let's say you find scarecrow's body, he's body will never disappear. And just before you change levels you have to time it. There's a bit of a trick to it. As you approach the level changer move backwards towards it, it'll ask you if you want to change, you say no, pick up all your items out of the body and then turn around. It'll ask you again and then change level. On the next level you have to have a body waiting though.

That's how I do it.

Hobo it'll be tough to get into the Exclusion zone without special permission / papers. But I'm sure you cna enjoy the rest of the Ukraine / Russia. Maybe take a ride in Kiev.

So seeing as I'm really addicted to the game I'll continue my adventures in the zone:

Last night I took my time in Rostok, just exploring and trying to get into places where I remember some good stash was kept. After killing a bunch of very strong mercs and using up almost all my medkits I decided it was time to go back to the bar to restock.
As I moved through the buildings towards the exit a group of mutants were moving from bar to Rostok to occupy the areas I emptied. This group was quite unique though, about 12 dogs, 6 pseudodogs, 13 rats, 4 snorks, and 1 lone bloodsucker. I couldn't believe my luck...
Within seconds they killed all the loners that were camping in that area and then upon noticing me sneeking they all came for me. I jumped onto some old cement pipes, and after about 2 seconds the pseudodogs pushed me off there. I used the last of my medkits, equipped my shotty and just opened fire on as many of them as I could. I still don't know how I survived that. All my ammo was used up, my armor was ruined and my rifles were all scrapped.

Seems you are having a royal old time in the zone.

I took the following photographs in the zone with my 'Cigarette' spy camera:

Most of these pictures have only recently been declassified:

That merc looks very happy on the toilet! I'll see if I can also upload some screenshots. If I remember to take them at the right time. Sometimes you forge to mash the F12 button.

Great idea. I have just entered the zone. Well been there a few times.

Please Tsar! Share with us your adventures! I'd love to see more people active in this forum. Are you going to play with any mods?

using the redux mod which forces you to play on hardest difficulty and makes a lot of changes making it more hardcore.

I'm currently testing out the M.S.O mod for a friend. And it adds a crap load of nice variations to COP. Making it a little busier but not too busy. Groups of AI move together to new camps now and react differently depending on the weather. I'll post some pics, copied them to my flash but forgot it at home.
