Hi Guys
Thought I would start a thread on this.
A discussion came up that there are a few locals wanting to get into the game dev.
So why not start a game purely made by the SA community to build and learn at the same time.Honestly guys if you always wanted to know what it is like, or how it's done, don't be scared. Some of us will be pro's, some of us are noobs. At the end we have 1 goal. A Playable FPS multiplayer shooter that was totally made locally.
The game will be a FPS game that shall be extended over time.
Edit:- (Used for later when deciding what game engine to use)
Please post here if you are interested.
Advise what you would be interested in doing aswell.

I list you guys are your code will have to incorporate replication.
ArchieChoke - If we go to Unity 3D, I would have to pull myself out of any promgramming till I can relate to the language as I know, T-SQL , VB, C++. So I can re-assign myself to modelling, map creation , Texturing and Level Designing.
oltma - Please advise your area's.
Ok here is the selection of Engine's to choose from:-
UE 4 - Unreal Engine 4 ($20 once off)
Unity 3D - Free version ofcourse
CryEngine - Wouldn't recommend, highly professional in its usage and really not user friendly, also monthly fee.
monogame - Haven't used.
Modelling tools that can be used:-
Blender - Complete free and just works
3DSMax - Not Free
Miaya - Not Free
Texturing software:-
Adobe Photoshop - Create tool at a price
Ms paint - Free but not a great tool
Google SketchUp - Free and works pretty well, but requires some tutorials and some reading.
Synchronization of files:-
I am going to recommend doing a google drive backups.I have 1 TB available to handle the raw asset files. Other users get 15GB free so this is a great option.
Will edit more later.
