SA getting black ops servers (no joke)

This is how I understand it:

1) MWEB have an exclusive deal with GameServers, hence no one else is allowed to rent a server from them in S.A.
2) Vodacom ISP is not peered with MWEB and your traffic to MWEB (and the COD servers) is router via an international link. i.e epic ping.
3) I'm awesome
4) Depends on what's in that picnic basket!

Why the fudge would it be exclusive? Sorry for not being up to speed, but why? Who's decision was this? Gameservers or Activism?

Well for me it has..

I'm sure there are other people with the same scenario as myself. I get a certain amount of bandwidth for free from Vox, and I also have a Telkom account, so why would I want to spend hundreds of rands more just to go get an MWEB or WA account now. That's like asking me to pay for the game and then some just to play online.

I'm not negative at all though, because overall I have to agree that it's a brilliant move from MWEB but for people like me it kinda sucks

Unless we, or Telkom peer with MWEB I can't really see myself getting this game. And I have no of whether that is going to happen in the near future.

Quite a check-mate move for a lot of people.

Look, how I understand it is like this:

GameServers are the people who "rent out" the servers to the different ISP's across the World. So, MWEB has been in exclusive talks with GameServers so that GameServers will ONLY rent the servers to MWEB in South Africa. This, in my opinion, means that GameServers will ONLY supply to MWEB and of course you're not allowed to sub-rent the servers. So only MWEB will be hosting these servers. SGS, iGame, WAGE - all of those - will not, and cannot have Black Ops servers because the agreement is exclusive to MWEB from GameServers.

Seems Gameservers deciced to cut out every single South Afican Game POrtal in favour of Mweb, strange choice
iGame will be renting servers and will be making thos eservers publicly available

And Coffee, nope, we will not be peering with Mweb Directly at no cost due to the availability of Servers

We will be renting public instances for iGame, I will pre order in a bit
That means that there will be iGame servers, but they will be on Mweb's infrastructure, so Hardware will be out of our control as will network access to the servers

Dude... I don't know anything about Vox, so I don't know it they will peer/can peer. However, staying with Telkom is just not on. You're supporting the largest obstacle to decent internet in this country at the moment.

If I'm getting 30 GB local and 5 GB p/m from Telkom and X amount of bandwidth free from Vox, since I work there (And I don't think we'll peer anytime soon), why would I go cancel my Telkom account for an Mweb/WA account? That would be kinda stupid, just to play one game. Do you see where I am going?

Many ISPs are already peering with MWEB at JINX/CINX, including Vox Telecom, Neology and Cybersmart, and there will hence be no impact on them when MWEB cuts their transit links.

My friend please go read up a bit more. Ive personally pre-ordered and paid for 2 servers from gameservers.com which will run of the South African datacentres being hosted by Mweb.
