So mere hours after I posted my rant about how the gov needs to sort out the labour unions, the IMF says:

Yeah looks about right to me - assuming you ignore the time value of money....which isn't a good idea given that we're talking years here.I got that 100% divided by percentage difference is roughly the factor you use to determine how long before it becomes effective. Thus 2.5% is a 40X factor, one week is 40 weeks, one month is then 40 etc.
