I think there's also a bit of general boredom with MMOs of late. I suppose everyone is just going through the motions with all these games, or rather very few of them have more than a month worth of discussion.
I'm currently playing TERA , since it's free, but even that is same old same old. The combat is fun, although i'd say GW2s combat FEELs more flowing, faster and actiony. Tera does however have the proper combo/tactical thing going (chained attacks/combos and proper evasion, blocking and triggers), but it does feel alot slower . Tera on the other hand, does not hand out all your abilities within the first 10 levels like GW2 (which made GW2 character building quite boring after lvl 40) So Tera combat gets more interesting as you go along. The world, well, it's typical asian, looks like Aion to me. Very colourful and all, but not quite my preference, but their F2P model is very generous with very little annoying restrictions, so i'll fool around a bit more.
Oh and i suppose Tera does not leave much to the imagination with their female characters. Very sexy, and very skimpy clothing. All the weapons are also totally out of proportion, like Final Fantasy. So it's super huge swords and stuff. Luckily it doesn't bother me too much, it does make for very good looking combat. Alot of people complained about the one "race" that looks like little girls in very revealing clothing, i must say, they don't seem to feature as much as i thought. There's like 8 races and most players seem to go for the standard Human/Elven/Elven-with-arse-in-the-air-running-style. So in the end, in the actual game you don't see as much as marketing shows. Kinda like how MMOs have you spend aaaages on customizing your character's FACE (eyes, nose etc), but guess what? You won't see your face most of the game, nor will anyone else care or look at it either...
Had a stint in Rift end of last year, with the expansion, but got bored there too. Again, the Rift universe has never been that interesting (the plot, the story, the characters) so it all comes down to character building. Unfortunately after level 50, there's not that much you can do with your character (that you couldn't have done before).
Also waiting for something fresh, more looking for a "world" again, not so much "dynamic combat" or "super advanced skill system" (although they should at least have something flued going) If the world is not fascinating and compelling i lose interest pretty quickly. Even GW2, amazing graphics, but the world is meh, i never felt compelled to read anything or follow any stories.
I don't expect TESO to be out before like November, likewise with Wildstar. So that leaves maybe Neverwinter? I've always had a thing for the DnD world (forgotten realms and such), so that alone is keeping me fixated on Neverwinter (no matter who is making it). The MMO landscape looks a little dry this year. Usually there's a launch right about now (Feb/Mar), but i find myself in older MMOs.
I might look into DCUO again, i enjoyed those "short stories" they have , and i still love the franchise and the connection to the comic books. Same reason why LOTRO is compelling, just too bad it's a massive grind in that game now.
EDIT: oh and fooling around in Path of Exile too, but it's still in open beta, so i'm not very committed to going very far. Definitely feels like Diablo II , but still lacks alot of polish in terms of the UI. Their shop/inventory interface will drive me nuts fairly soon (i.e. having to drag items into a shop screen one by one to sell vs the "sell all junk" buttons all new games have these days)
