Shipping almost R200 @ zaps ?

This new or was shipping always this expensive?

I'm already spending R960 and now I must dosh up almost R200 to have it ship? crazy. Where is free shipping or those days where it was only R29...

Take2 it's free, but they don't have the mat I want.
Prophecy is only R50, also no roccat sense.

Tell them to send it to the shop, I'll go fetch it and send it to you via SS if you want. Think that's R64.
 
What is it you're ordering? Sometimes weight gets factored in. I must say, though, R200 is still a lot regardless of what it weighs.

That's why I order most of my stuff through Take2. They ship for free. Wanted to order a game through BTGames the other day, and they told me because Stellenbosch isn't close to a major metropolitan area, it's R100. Gave them the finger for that. Seriously, screw anyone who charges for shipping when a customer orders something over R400. R29 might still be understandable, but fuck me, anything over that is ridiculous.

guessing that last one takes 4 days, I'd have to pick one of the top two which is rather ridiculous. Sure as hell not going Post Office Parcell.

Nah dude. That is crazy. It would seem they are making a profit from the shipping as well and that doesn't seem right. Or it could be that they are including insurance on the parcels being couriered, but you should have the choice.

Have you tried arranging your own courier to collect and deliver to you? Phone Time Freight or similar company. Should be a damn side cheaper.
 
Payed R150 for my order from Rebeltech, took it over speed services.
I'm so spoiled... Free Shipping from take2 over R350 :)
 
I don't think Zaps like to ship far away from them. When I ordered my PC, I had the same problem, it would cost me almost as much as the PC to have it shipped. However, since their customer service was so good, I just drove the 400kms and collected it myself.

Take2's courier will deliver a hard disk to my house, but refuse to deliver a complete system, can't figure that one out.

With Prophecy, I specifically asked them to confirm that their courier company will deliver to my house, only to find out that the courier wanted an additional R600 to drive the 40km detour it would take to reach my house.
 
Hey P - So what did the online guys say when you queried that delivery amount?

Can you blame people for thinking that? Most shipping from places cost around R30 to maybe R100 if you really stretch it. Anything above that and you're either trying to profit from shipping or building a teleporter to get it to customers.

Dropped you a PM a little earlier.

If you send me your address or area code I can check out why the shipping module is charging that figure, it could be that there was a glitch with the shipping module on our site or the area code was uploaded incorrectly. We really need that information before we can come to any conclusions.

From one forum post with out hearing both sides - jumping the gun a bit?? - Id say so

But just so that everybody knows - we do not make money on deliveries - in fact we subsidise many of our delivery costs.

But we are looking into it we just need a few details from Proph first.

Finally websense thinks it's ok to surf gaming...

Code is 0010, pretoria-ish. Old address, I don't stay there any more. Just using it because I didn't for sure know if I would be in RSA or AUS.
 
Ok so the root of the problem:
That area code wasn't listed for one of our couriers, parcels with similar specifications going to that area code will now be charged at R49 via fastway couriers and not R149 via CIT.

Please in future give us a shout via email or drop us a line. We can't help or negate problems if we don't know there is a problem.

There are thousands of postal codes and they have to be entered manually so there will be mistakes from time to time, the only way we can fix them is with everyone's help. ;)
