depends in which context...but usually that counts as a blaspheme.

I agree with you MH, but that's just how it is. Look, don't get me wrong, i think TK should be a very leniant place. Omega can keep an eye out for when things get out of control, but otherwise, anything goes...

Except like: "O my G*d...I totally ****** this girl last night till she...that kind of thing...u know?

Or like saying Telkom is: ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** bastards that ***** ***** ***** ***** in their ***** ***** ****** ******* till they ***** ***** of ***** *****.

That's what I mean...look, i swear like a sailor on crack, but I still respect the views and opinions of others.

yeah I was getting at people getting all hissy fitish about me saying "OMG, I'm so hungreh" or "geezuz that was sore" type of thing ...... not debating religion with someone and going "your god sucks, mine rules" .... that is just a waste of time.
 
here's an idea... what if you could customise your Profile such that you can choose whether or not you would like the swearing filter on or off...

that way people who want to can read and write swear words to their hearts content, without offending anyone... cos the other people could have the swearing filter on.

And when newbies sign up they can get the swearing filter turned on by default?

You'd be amazed how much that "waste of time" has been keeping people busy (but I agree) :D

Yeah i know. OMG or Geezuz doesn't bother me. But yes the ruts might take offence but then ill back you bro. When it turns into more serious type stuff is where i draw the line.

Swearing shouldn't be censored, if somebody wants to, they should be allowed. Obviously if it's used in a hurtfully manner, than its not the fault of the censor, but the person behind the keyboard. Than it can fall into the category of flaming.

I personally don't like it if people use God's name just to be funny or have nothing else to say but only my opinion and i would not force my beliefs onto anyone.

I think in context is fine. Blurring it out with * isn't any less offensive in my opinion. I just end up thinking of every swear word that could've been referred to.

Ant mature user can use judgement in swearing, but only a total gaping moron would spit out Fs and S excessively or offensively.

I'm having to agree with this chap. Blasphemy, you might say, is a way of getting your point across. I say, there are many other ways in which that can be done.
